A forum for all things Cardiff City

Just finished reading the Chronicles book on hols and it is apparent the strong bond many current fans had with the 80's and 90's teams and games.
As a suggestion what are your feelings on players from that era being guests of the club on matchdays and introduced to the crowd at half time with a montage of highlights on the 'giant' screen? We obvioulsy hold those players close to our hearts and the salaries in those days weren't as they are now so i'm sure those players would welcome a day out at the new stadium. Maybe an end of season shirt signed by the all the years guests could raise money for charity/pojects?
I started watching regularfrom the late 80's onward and had my own favourites from Terry Boyle, Jason Perry to Cohen, Blakey,Gilligan and of course Stant not to mention Paul Ramsay, Wimbleton, Millar and Searle.
I'm sure those further back will have memories of the Bennett brothers, Mickalef and Hemmerman.
Just a thought and if he board likes the idea would be happy for them to promote as their project via Annis, Carl and Gwyn.

You do realise they did this in the last year at Ninian?
It was just so ridiculously understated and underpublicised that we've all either forgotten about it or forced it out of our minds.
Have a look on the official site and somewhere in the depths you'll find articles on the different players they had.
Seems a bit pointless to just do this for shits and giggles to me. Special or poignant occasions (as with Brian Clarke's tribute) are the right time to bring old players back.
