If you're having Ron Healy, then I would go for Tony Evans and Adrian Alston. The level of expectation when these 2 played got me hooked on CCFC.

They were the Chops & Bothroyd / Earnie & Thorne of their day.

If you're going for greatest CCFC moments, then stuffing Hereford 2-0 in front of 35,000 at NP takes some beating.

A lot of those mentioned are basically pretty sh1t players who were heros to us because either they tried or they were the besy of what we had.
I think we need a few options from further back if we are truly to represent the history of the club.

Certainly need to include:


Alf Sherwood - probably the best player of our last side in the top division and one of the best in his position in the country
Ron Stitfall -2nd highest appearance record. Also in the awesome side of the late 40's ealy 50's.
Len Davies (Club record goalscorer)

I can't believe how difficult it is to come up with list of greats after all players are generally remembered for great moments in certain matches rather than how many times they appeared and thats fair enough i suppose but for me it's all about loyalty so my list would be PHIL DWYER,DON MURRAY,TOM FARQUHARSON,PETER KING,RON STITFALL,FRED KEENOR,BILLY HARDY,ALAN HARRINGTON,ALF SHERWOOD,LEN DAVIES,JASON PERRY,SCOTT YOUNG,COLIN BAKER,ROGER GIBBINS,BILLY BAKER,DERRICK SULLIVAN,DAMON SEARLE,COHEN GRIFFITH,JIMMY NELSON,GARY BELL, which is the list of top 20 appearances of all time.I would also add the names of LEN DAVIES{TOP SCORER OF ALL TIME},ROB EARNSHAW,BRIAN CLARK,HUGHIE FERGUSON{SCORED WINNING GOAL IN CUP FINAL} CARL DALE,DEREK TAPSCOTT,JOHN BUCHANAN,and TONY EVANS.All true greats in my opinion.

Wouldn't combining the to polls be unfair. It could knock out several legends on the first poll that wouldn't have done had all the others be put on the original. It would be fairer to start the poll again putting all the names under one Poll. Or just add the names to the original poll then anyone can adjust there vote accordingly. Just a thought

Don't forget Hughie Ferguson the man who scored the goal that won us the FA Cup in 1927 and a mention for the Arsenal goalkeeper that day Len Davies musta been an honorary CCFC player
