Cardiff city or not and why? i'll kick it off.
Carlos tevez, in my opinion of the greatest all around players ever will score goals and still get back to get a tackle in when it's needed. He started from lets be honest not the best conditions in Argentina and has worked his way up to be one of the greatest footballers on the planet, i remember reading when you joined Manchester United he was offered cosmetic surgery on his neck which was burned by a fire when he was young refusing the surgery saying something along the lines of 'this scar is what i am' i respect the hell out of him for that, i truly believe he is the wrong place right now working under mancini and i read today he was ready to quit at anytime because he was tired and exhausted and misses his family, i think the guys a legend.

In all honesty, I always respected Bellamy before he signed for us. Spoke his mind, gave it his all and wouldn't put up with failure. But I also respect Roy Keane for the same reasons.
Both hot headed bad boys, but both of them would run through brick walls to ensure they finished on the winning side. Both acted like horrible little tw*ts at times, but I admired the dedication to the game, not the money. And they both treat he fans with the respect they deserve. For example, Bellers treated that Man U fan who invaded the pitch last year with the respect he deserved....a smack in the gob

For me from years of following ccfc it would have to be Phil Dwyer, Jason Perry and Scott Young because they all put their bollox on the line for the bluebirds.
From the premiership over the past 10 yrs i would add Giggs, Scholes, Bellamy, Given, Scharner, Robbie Keane plus a few more.

i grew up watching the likes of Perry. I remember watching his debut (v Orient i think) and in that game like every game he gave his everything for the club he loved.
Kenny hibbitt treated him like shite. I would love to see him working for the club (maybe the academy). Listening to him on R Wales is great. He has so much passion for the club.
Jason Perry is a Cardiff City Legend.

Ryan GiggsA good allround guy, family man, and stuck with UTD even though he could have probably made more money elsewhere.
Roy KeaneA leader of men, absolute legend.
Nacho NovoScored the winning Penalty against Fiorentina to take Rangers to the Uefa Cup Final, he put up with loads of shit under PLG
and is 100% Rangers Legend.
Iv always had a lot of time for Robbie Savage, Craig Bellamy, the type of guys who tell it as it is.

Novo, to a lesser extent was Rangers answer to Solskjaer. He always bagged goals whenever he played but for some reason, spent a lot of time on the bench. But he never moaned or had a tantrum. He just get on with it and would bleed Rangers Blue.

I respect Argentinian players in general it's very rare to see scandals about them and they're always giving it 120% each game.

At Cardiff City Perry & dwyer also Andy legg such a worker on the pitch and always gave 100% to us.
As a kid I liked Kevin Keegan as he was such a worker for 90 minutes for any team he played for the same as
Mark Hughes Ryan Giggs and Roy Keene
But I always liked Alan Shearer he was a great striker and scored some great goals the one against Everton I was in my local and when scored that we all stood up and applauded a cracker plus moved to his beloved Newcastle rather than
win everything with Man U... Man U hated Shearer for that,, as they wanted him so much , for that I respected him

Bluebirds ............Carl Dale for keeping us in football league
Other..................Mark Hughes

Non-City:
Jack Collison gets my vote.
Cambridge youth team player when they were relegated from the FL and the youth were disbanded. Had to find another club and got the scholarship at West Ham.
Scored and set up two in his second full game in a 4-1 win v Pompey, then scored the winner against Man City in 2009.
Then, of course, he played against Spurs before learning that his father had been killed in a motorcycle accident while travelling to the game. Then, the fact he had the desire to play against Millwall in the League Cup just two days latr was admirable enough.
That he dealt with the cowardly and moronic behaviour of a great deal of the pond life that attach themselves to Millwall and West Ham for the entire gaming before leaving the pitch in understandable tears just cements his place as one of the few footballers I truly have any respect for.
And closer to home:
Robbie Savage. Controversial I know, but hear me out.
Sav played 25 minutes of the charity game between Cardiff City and "Legg's Eleven" - despite playing in the Premiership at the time with Blackburn and paying the insurance costs himself. After he'd got changed he came back onto the touchline for an interview and was brilliant.
Then he took his boots over and gave them to a wheelchair-bounds child in the Grandstand, who was so clearly chuffed it was amazing to see.
Contrast Savages actions that day to Sheffield United midfielder Stephen Quinn's in their 0-3 "win" against us in 2009. The little ginger Irish runt thought it'd be hilarious to celebrate his goal by goading the disabled section at Ninian. Yes Quinny, you absolute pillar of society. C*nt.

City legends for me has to be Joe Dwyer and Brian Clark both great players who had a great love for this club.
Mon Oct 11, 2010 6:08 pm
I'd have to go for Andy Legg (I've only been following for 10 years)
So can't comment on Dale, Dwyer, Perry, etc
For an ex-swansea player to win us over, it shows the effort he put in, each and every game!

Darren Purse for his integrity and off-the-field behaviour as Cardiff captain - especially when he wasn't in the squad!
Ryan Giggs as the epitome of professionalism
Craig Bellamy for his demands on himself and his team-mates and determination to succeed (second best isn't good enough) - making him an even better player than his matural talents would have taken him; and for the unsung work for others less fortunate.
Eric Cantona because he had that swagger, genius, enigma - and a bloody seagull behind his trawler (pretty good actor too)
Stephen MacPhail for fighting his disease with a smile and coming through (must be 10 times harder than the worst football injury to overcome), and Andy Legg for similar reasons
Roger Milla for his moves - and making millions of white working people in northern Europe fans of African football
The whole North Korean team for courage above and beyond - only Columbians worried about the reaction of gambling syndicates if they produced the wrong result would have played with more fear of the consequences of losing....
Mon Oct 11, 2010 11:31 pm
Tony Evans..................Never wanted much, never expected much,........but gave everything for CCFC.
Tue Oct 12, 2010 12:52 am
Matt Le Tissier.
Greatest natural footballer from the UK in the last 30 years.
He could have gone anywhere he wanted but chose to stay with Southampton.
And he was banging Marilyn from Home and Away.
Tue Oct 12, 2010 6:33 am
Steve Claridge and anybody who has read his book will back me up on this ............... this guy was not 1 of your fancy Dan type players with the wild life and the publicity seeking WAG but just an honest bloke getting paid a pittance and just like you or me spending all your money and being skint by the end of the month .
Peter Sayer who was at the Aberdare Car Show 1 Sunday afternoon back in the 70's signing autographs and having photos taken with his spanking new TR7 car
Ray Kennedy - read his book and it says it all !
Tue Oct 12, 2010 11:55 am
Phil Stant - On the pitch was not as talented as most of our players now or even the players in the team he played in, but gave 100% effort everytime he was on the pitch. Also prior to playing for us fought for his country in the Falklands, how many pre Madonna footballlers would do that today??
Tue Oct 12, 2010 4:01 pm
Carl Dale and Tony Evans, very similar players - great goal poachers but worked their nuts off when the other team had posession too.
