Erol Bulut led Cardiff to a 12th-place finish in a campaign

Mon May 06, 2024 7:30 pm

Erol Bulut led Cardiff to a 12th-place finish in a campaign that includes wins over Ipswich, Southampton, Swansea and Coventry.

An impressive first season despite being one of the relegation favourites in August, and spending less than £2m, the sixth-lowest in the league.

Be careful, the usual suspects will be along soon asking for an explanation of those facts

All facts indeed.

Also led the team to 22 defeats.
His team conceded more goals than relegated Birmingham.
Lets in five goals against the worst team in the league.

All also facts.

But those were the players fault whereas the top half finish was solely down to Bulut.

You have blinkers on more than anyone.

You see the way we play as a black or white decision, but it’s far more complex than that.

I’ve given up trying to explain.

Spot on David’s.
Those stats (facts) will lead us to relegation if we stick with bulut. We certainly won’t finish above 12th next season.

Would you rather only lose 15 with loads of draws and be relegated then?

On the flip side, some on here should get some blinkers to allow them to see that we finished top half, and not bottom of league 2.

I'd rather lose 15 with another 7 wins from playing some positive front foot attacking football and be in the play offs but as Bulut kept reminding us, he didn't have the players to play attacking football.

Not that he ever tried as far as I can tell. Take the last month of the season - safe from relegation yet still the same defensive approach to every game. Last game of the season against already relegated Rotherham?

Let's start with Siopis and Wintle again shall we? That's the way to throw off the shackles and give the fans hope of a different approach next season.

6th biggest wage bill, only reason spending was so low is you were not allowed to spend, the utter bias in that quote "as it didn't come from you" gives WOL a run for their money
As a side note, why can't people give credit to the actual people they're stealing their quotes from?
I believe that came from a delusional twitter user called " the coach" something or other

For me it was a season of dire football especially at home (bar a couple of games)
A negative thinking manager with no plan B

Yet 12 other teams finished below us.

What an awful awful manager he must be, right?
