In praise of Nat Phillips

Sat Apr 20, 2024 7:06 pm

Most of the attention after today's win will be centred on the fine performances of the youngsters and rightly so - especially as two of them played major roles in the goals which won the game for us.

But I'd just like to pay tribute to Nat Phillips who I thought was immense today - made a number of magnificent blocks and tackles and was an absolute rock.

What a fine signing he's been and although he's probably way out of our price range I'd love to see him back here next season. He's exactly the sort of player that an ambitious team with genuine promotion hopes should be looking to sign.

We've had some excellent loan signings over the past few seasons and for me Phillips is one of the best.

I’d break the bank to sign him.

I think he’d want us to sign better players so he can be in a promotion team.

But he is an invaluable defender at this level.

Love his commitment for a loan player playing for a team with nothing to play for.

Absolutely. He’s been nothing but professional and committed from day 1. A rock of a player

Him and Goutas are a great pairing with another quality player McGuinness too. Sign Phillips if we can, 100%

What a player.

Class, a leader, a cut above in this league.

Would love to see him here next season but think he will end up in a lower league Premier league team
