BREAKING EROL BULUT: “ THURSDAY 11Th APRIL 2024 “

Thu Apr 11, 2024 7:40 am

BREAKING: Erol Bulut reveals Callum Robinson and Mahlon Romeo axed from last night's squad due to disciplinary reasons.

"Discipline and respect are the most important things for me. They were a little bit away from that."

Plus Ramsey out this Saturday and could miss rest of the season.

EROL BULUT HAS MADE BIG PROGRESS COMPARED TO CARDIFF’S PREVIOUS LAST FEW YEARS.

Some of his decisions have been very dubious and his football for many months has been boring and negative.

Buluts away record has been excellent, but his home record worse than awful.

Bulut took over Cardiff City with a Transfer Embargo and then was promised six months later he would be fully backed , Bulut was virtually ignored.

Then Bulut has been totally ignored about his future at the club and any planning by for the future by the owner Vincent Tan.

But Cardiff City need stability and Bulut has earned the right to another year contract.

EROL BULUT:

“We’ve made big progress from the start of the season until now.”

“Of course we’ve had bad games. Nobody’s perfect, I’m not perfect.”

“Aaron Ramsey will have a scan today”

“I am still waiting on my future and my staff.”

“We want to know and plan.”

“I am now putting our youngsters in to the team.”

“We need to see if they are ready to be a part of the first-team squad next season.”

“We believe our younger players are incredibly talented. I hope in the coming games they'll be able to show this when called upon."

EROL BULUT:

“We have a number of players out injured:

“Kion Etete, Mark McGuinness, Callum O'Dowda, Jak Alnwick and Josh Wilson-Esbrand. “

“ Ryan Wintle may be back for the weekend, but we may not see the others again this season.’

“Aaron Ramsey will miss Saturday, but we will know later today how bad his injury is.”

Erol Bulut:

"Last night For 90 minutes I was satisfied, from the first second we were fully concentrated on the game.

"It was not easy, Birmingham need points and they were pushing a lot to score and don't deserve to be in this position, but sometimes football is like that.

"We had good positioning behind the ball, and with the ball we had good movement and could have scored one or two more."

Erol Bulut:

“Rubin has been injured in the last game with an ankle problem. He was good and he kept the ball well, from the right side he and Josh played really well.”

“Good assist and good goal," he added. "That's why [Bowler] is here. To score goals and provide assists.”

"I am very satisfied. We were fully concentrated and fully focussed on the game. It was not easy because Birmingham needed points and they were pushing a lot to score.

Re: EROL BULUT: “ THURSDAY 11Th APRIL 2024 “

Ramsey has only had 6 starts and in total only appeared in 13 games out of 44 League and Cup games this season for Cardiff City.

EROL BULUT:

“ Ramsey has a hamstring problem, I hope it's not something big," said Bulut.

"We will see after the scan, I hope for him that it's not another big one."

Ramsey's injury took the shine off Wednesday's hard-fought win, though Cardiff fans will have been pleased by the impact his replacement Rubin Colwill had on the second half.

The 21-year-old set up Josh Bowler for the Bluebirds' winner and looked the most likely to unlock the Birmingham defence after Ramsey's departure.

Bulut says the decision to start Ramsey was cleared by the medical staff at the club.

"He worked really really hard to come back, we used him a bit in games before to not be in danger," added Bulut.

"Today we spoke with the medical department who said we can play him for the start for maybe 60 minutes, but it's ended in another hamstring problem.

"He's had a hard season with injuries and I wish him all the best."

Asked if Ramsey will now focus on recovering for the start of next season, Bulut said: "I still hope he can play the last one or two games."

Erol Bulut:

“ Cian Ashford “

Erol Bulut said after the match: "Before the game, I said to him that maybe he could come on for 15 or 20 minutes, so I said to him, 'Are you nervous?' He said, 'No, no, I'm OK!'

"After the game I asked him and he said, 'In the game, I was really nervous!' There is a difference between under-21s games and high-level Championship games! He has to learn many things, but for a start, tonight, he was good.

"He had really good games at under-21s and for the national team he had good games. He is training well with us, but small-sided games are different and on the big field everything is different. But he will learn, he is still 19 years old. He will have good moments again."

Bulut's assistant, Nadir Sonmez, wrote of Ashford on social media after the game: "This is the best feeling in football when you see a young player taking part in an important game."

Cardiff City bomb two players from squad over disciplinary issues as Bulut demands 'respect'
The Bluebirds manager has made his feelings clear over why players were not included

Cardiff City jettisoned Callum Robinson and Mahlon Romeo from their squad for the win over Birmingham City over disciplinary issues, manager Erol Bulut has revealed.

Cardiff named only 19 players in their matchday squad for the game at St Andrew's, one fewer than their opposition. While the likes of Callum O'Dowda, Jak Alnwick, Mark McGuinness, Kion Etete and Josh Wilson-Esbrand were known to be injured, questions were asked about Robinson and Romeo, both of whom were named on the bench for the defeat by Hull City at the weekend.

And when asked whether the duo were missing through injury, Bulut replied: "No, they are not injured. It's a disciplinary penalty from my side.

"We don’t need to speak about this. It is internal that we cleared it. I spoke with the player. I said at the start of the season, discipline and respect are the most important things for me. They were a little bit away from that. That's why they were not with us."

Both players were big players during the relegation-fighting season last year, but have found themselves out of the team for a number of reasons this season.

Robinson has had injury issues, but is also unlikely to displace the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Rubin Colwill or David Turnbull Cardiff's starting XI. While on the wings, Karlan Grant and Josh Bowler have been nailed-on favourites.

Romeo has fallen foul of Cardiff changing formation this season, meaning Perry Ng, one of Cardiff's most consistent performers and the reigning player of the year, has had a free run at that right-back spot, with no wing-backs having been deployed.

Nevertheless, Cardiff's injury list is lengthy and Bulut would have been loath to narrow his options further, but felt it necessary to take disciplinary action over something which clearly occurred between the Hull game last Saturday and the Birmingham game on Wednesday. When asked about the nature of the indiscretion, Bulut declined to divulge further information.

Cardiff travel to Millwall on Saturday, another team fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table, just like Birmingham. Bulut confirmed that Romeo would be back but further conversations would be had with Robinson.

"We will have a talk with [Romeo], but he will be back (for Millwall)."

EROL BULUT:

"I said a long time ago, I am very happy in Cardiff. We made big progress since the start of the season until now. We have had bad games, no one is perfect and I can learn a lot of things. I like to work with these guys and I'd like to be in the plans.

"I have had [connections before with fans], but Cardiff fans are great. We are close. We have had many meetings with the supporters groups and I like them also. They support the team perfectly.

"I am focusing now on the last four games. This is a decision of the board. If they have a plan and I am included, I will, but if not then I have to accept it. This decision, fans, media and the owner, the board members, they have to decide."

Dalman and Choo attending last nights Cardiff win at Brum.

Erol Bulut said he had no plans to speak with the Cardiff chiefs immediately after the game in the Midlands, but when asked about his previous talks with Dalman, the man who wanted to bring him here in the first place, about his own future, he said: "With him, we talk many times. Positive talks.

"But in the end, our owner, Vincent Tan, has to make the decision on what he wants for next season and what kind of plans he has, so we are waiting.

"If they think about the new season with me [as manager], they will come to me. If not, they will not. So, then I have to plan my flight tickets back to Istanbul.

"For the club, it is important to make plans for the future. If we want to plan like every club, for the players, for the club, for us it's important to make plans. But sometimes when you are too late with the plans, again you start from the start and this is not good
