“ Cian Ashford “

Great to see him get 20 minutes tonight.

I thought he did well and held his own at this level.

Could probably move the ball a bit quicker, but that will come with experience.

Good start by him though.

I expect he will gradually get more minutes in these final four games.

Definitely needs more minutes, bit weird putting him out in the wing though but in Bulut we trust as they say

I think he wanted to bring him on but he also had to take Bowler off.

Bowler and Ng had been booked and that was the side of the pitch that Birmingham were targeting. Couldn’t risk a red card for Bowler, who can make rash challenges.

He also knew Meite didn’t have the energy to play longer. Couldn’t risk having two inexperienced players in the front three (Ashford and Tanner).

So his best option, if he wanted to bring Ashford on, was to play him out wide.

Seemed to take it in his stride, probably glad to get it out of the way, now more minutes until the end of the season and he will be ready for next season and raring to go.

He did well, didn't seem phased at all. He needs more game time. I hope he gets it.
