Prince Charles

I don't like him.....he isn't Welsh and therefore has no right whatsoever to be Prince of Wales. Thoughts?

I have been on two Guards of Honour for him and had a pint in the mess with him. To be honest, he is just a figure head and has a job to do. (Slightly overpaid I may add) :D :D

Gentlemen, sometimes I am in awe of your ignorance. WTF has the guy ever done to you?? Don't judge the man until you have walked a mile in his shoes....

There's none of you would swap places with him for the constant publicity and intrusion he (and his family) have to put up with....and no amount of money in the world can make up for the total lack of privacy and abuse he gets from the people he genuinely tries to help.

I am not a 'Royalist' but I respect anyone who does their best....in any capacity

I agree. Prince Charles is a b*stard. I mean how dare he set up the Princes Trust to help young people get back on their feet. Raising £110m a year for his 15 charities is just a sign of selfishnes.

And don't get me started on his campaign to help british farmers and all this stuff about his carbon footprint.

He really is a prick

A nice post there but I do think the Prince of Wales title is a joke. It should be given to a native individual voted for by the Welsh public in recognition of their contribution to Wales. That's how they should decide the Princess of Wales as well. The title should be awarded once every 4 years.

I like Prince Charles but I just wish he wasn't called the Prince of Wales

I agree, he's an upper class twit who probably would have ended up flogging stamps behind a post office counter if it werent for our bonkers hereditary system of appointing heads of state.

As if the money comes out of his pocket. Most of Charlies charities are unaudited financial basket cases that have to rely on state subsidy for them to continue to exist, as usual Charlie is treated as a special case to save the the blushes of English monarchy plc.

Does it matter if it comes out of his own pocket or not? He's still raising money and putting effort into helping people less fortunate than him. How much money did you raise for charity last year? Whether it was his money or not, he's raised millions to help people in need.

People don't criticise Terry Wogan, Lenny Henry etc for not chucking in millions of their own money to Children in Need etc, but they still play a substantial role in raising money for the charity. And they get the respect the deserve, so why shouldn't Charles. And how do you know that Charles donate to his charities? You're his accountant are you?

Re: Prince Charles

Whether Charlie donates to charity or not is pretty irrelevant really seeing as his vast sources of income include tax payer subsidies from the civil list or the tens of millions in profit the tax evading Duchy of Cornwall hand over to him anually...Lets face it juggy himself is the ultimate charity, he lives an extravegant lifestyle completely detached from the realities of life that face the rest of us... ie working our bollocks off to pay the mortgae every month.

Iv'e got no problem with the wealth creators, sportsmen and entertainers who earned their dosh because of their talent, dedication or hardwork...The royal family though just take the piss, the whole concept of wealth and privilege through bloodline f-ing stinks, as does the idea of an upper class English goon going about calling himself the prince of my country

You rather miss the point here....

I know there are exceptions, but how many of YOU would put yourselves on the line to help others?? Not many I can tell you!!

Re: Prince Charles

Well actually each tax paying person pays just under a pound a year towards the royal family's coffers. Most of their money is self made. Not to mention the tourism they pull.

Dislike the concept of royalty if you want, but there's no need to personally insult the man for being born into a situation that is beyond his control. You can't control who you are born to can you?

Re: Prince Charles

Abdicate his title of the Prince of Wales and i pwomise not to insult him anymore ;)
