Having just watched them against Bristol could be 3 or 4 nil to us! They were awful toothless and had 300 passes but not one shot on goal in that time. :o

Luke Williams says Swansea City "cannot wait" for the south Wales derby despite a dispiriting defeat at Bristol City.

Swansea saw their three-match unbeaten run come to an end as a Rob Dickie goal settled a drab game at Ashton Gate.

Sunday's loss leaves Swansea only five points clear of the Championship's bottom three going into next Saturday's meeting with Cardiff City.

But Swans boss Williams says league position has no bearing on what is "massive" fixture.

"It's an incredible occasion in the calendar," said Williams, who is preparing for his first Welsh derby as Swansea's head coach.

"It's something we all look forward to. I know it's something everyone looks for first as soon as the fixtures come out.

"We are very disappointed at this moment in time but we will pick ourselves up and prepare for what will be a fantastic occasion. We cannot wait."

Cardiff will travel west on the back of a rousing four-match winning streak which has revived hopes of a late-season play-off push.

For me, the team picks itself (which is copy paste from Saturday)

However, the only question I'd ask is: Ralls or Wintle?

I'd say Wintle has earned his place after Saturday, and seems alot more comfortable now that Turnbull has settled into the style.

Ralls on late to close out the game? Or Ralls to start to add energy in the tackle?

Wintle can’t really be dropped after Saturday, great performance so Wintle starts and Ralls late on

I had a scan of their forum after our Ipswich win and their wurzle loss. Prior to the weekend, they were confident but now not so much and a few of them watched the Ipswich game and said if we replicate that performance, we will tear them a new one. Derbies are a treat and a little different to regular matches, it's true that whoever turns up on the day often wins as recent form seems to be irrelevant.

They are saying that the first goal will be significant and they need to get it early. If they do, I'm actually not so bothered especially after Ipswich, who are the Championships late goal winner specialists, our heads won't go down. But I also think at theirs that if we strike early, they will be silenced and won't come back. The pressure is very much on them and they know it

A few derbies ago back at theirs, Robinson got sent off in the early stages of the game. We lost of course, but prior to that the jacks were nervous and silent, as we went hard at them from the off, stopped them playing, created chances and they had no reply. The nervous silence from the orc army also affected their game, it was deafening, you could see and feel it affecting them, nerves were setting in.

And of course we go into it having won 3 of our derbies already plus also on the back of our best performance of the season. I'm looking forward to it, not so much a few weeks ago before we turned a corner but I think we can win this if we turn up like we did on Saturday.

They are there for the taking, they were awful against Bristol yesterday, if we turn up and go at them from the start and grab an early goal I can see the crowd getting on there backs and them falling to pieces

Great time to play them the new boys have gelled and we are getting better game by game, we've only conceded two goals in the last five games while unbeaten and have won the last four in a row, on paper it's comfortable two or three nil game, but of course it's a derby and could go against current form.

I can't wait for it if we score first we will win!

The 0-4 drubbing a couple of seasons back was easily in my top 3 worst moments watching Cardiff.

Revenge on a similar level in that corrugated carcass of a stadium of theirs would be immensely sweet and go some want to healing that bitter memory.

It was extremely depressing.

Revenge on that is still needed. September was an amazing night both in the stadium and in town afterwards.

Now we need to do them on their patch.

No team in Championship history has ever got 90 points or more and NOT been promoted.

I think that record’s set to be broken this season…

Where we recently went to Bristol City and won comfortably (first rival double), we are in better form than them and have no pressure, if we lose so what, if they lose it's a double loss in two World Cup Finals, and a nudge towards the relegation zone.

The Pressure is on Swansea.

Winning each of their last four second-tier matches by a single goal, Erol Bulut's men are finally finding themselves on the right side of the Championship's tight margins, with the run of one win in seven between January and February now a distant memory for a team with the top six in their sights.

The Bluebirds currently occupy 11th place in the Championship standings as this weekend's South Wales derby draws ever closer, sitting just five points behind David Wagner's sixth-placed Norwich City and a whole 10 points ahead of fierce rivals Swansea, who are languishing in 15th.

Cardiff are looking to do the double over their Welsh counterparts in the 2023-24 term following success over Duff's Swans at the Cardiff City Stadium in September, when late heroics from academy graduate Ollie Tanner and Welsh legend Aaron Ramsey secured a 2-0 victory.

Enduring an injury-riddled loan spell from West Ham United, Harrison Ashby remains in the Swansea medical room due to a muscle strain picked up in early February.

Josh Ginnelly has only managed six appearances in the Championship for the Swans since making the switch from Hearts in the summer, with the 26-year-old struggling due to a muscle injury.

Ronald Pereira will be tasked with providing a moment of magic for the hosts as they seek to defeat their rivals, with the Brazilian making a positive impression since joining in the January transfer window.

Cardiff are coping marvellously well without the services of influential defender Mark McGuinness, who is expected back next month from a hamstring injury.

Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips and Greek Dimitrios Goutas have struck up a good partnership in the Irishman's absence, and Bulut should field that duo in Swansea on Saturday.

Jak Alnwick was not featured for the Bluebirds since the 2-0 defeat against Preston North End due to injury, meaning that former Nottingham Forest keeper Ethan Horvath has enjoyed an extended run in the XI.
