How did last night's Quiz at The Brunswick go and how much was raised ? :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Very badly i'm afraid. Just eight or nine people turned up apart from about 10 members of the Trust, including six members of the board. Very disappointing considering it was advertised on this and Mike's message board on September 17 and again a number of times after, in the Echo, Merthyr Express, the City programme, on Twitter and Facebook and on the Trust's own website. I know the Trust has been urged to hold events in the Valleys but the response to this fundraiser wasvextremely disappointing.
But on the positive side there will be a curry night in Cardiff on November 4 to be attended by two/three City players (names to be confirmed) which should prove popular with admission restricted to just 140. More details in a few days.

A quiz in Merthyr on a Thursday Night against a Curry Night with 2-3 players attending.

Go figure.

The support is in the Valleys, just look how many people were at the same pub for a Q&A with the Riddler.

There will be just as many people there when Jonny Owens does his promotion for the CD.

I think it just proves the fact that the Majority of Cardiff City Fans dont want or support a Supporters Trust.

Sorry Lads, thats just my opinion.

i knew it would be dissapointing, dont raise your hopes up in the other places too

but with regards to the trust, all people i know and speak to dont support the jobs for the boys trust, its a waste of space, best thing would be to stop it!

True coz I was there to see the Riddler ........... maybe Thurs was a wrong nite to pick with Spoons doing their curry nite too ? Perhaps fans need to be asked what type of event they would support for the Trust or get the MB's to organize night's and involve part of the night to the statue appeal ? :ayatollah:

Or a Fred Keenor Statue presumably? That's what the night was for, not the Trust.

For whatever reason it was a flop but no harm done in the big scheme of things. :ayatollah:

Oh Ben, you are a wind-up merchant but I can't resist.
What jobs for the boys are those then? Those swines at the Trust must be keeping them a secret from me.

As Mike has already responded on here , it wasn`t a Trust event it was a Fred Keenor statue fund night.

Are you saying that the vast majority of fans in the Merthyr area (or generally) don`t want or support the building of the statue? Because that would seem to be contrary to the level of support received to date at other venues for other events.

Fred Keenor statue fund night, organised by the Cardiff City Suporters Trust.

There lies the problem.

No, I am not saying the people of Merthyr dont support the Fred Keenor Statue fund, I am saying they dont support events organised by the Trust and would prefer to support other organised events. Clearly this is proven.

In my opinion, a Trust which is not needed, not wanted, and clearly not supported by the majority of Cardiff City Supporters.

If you want to set up a little club, join the Supporters Club. Why exactly do we need a Supporters Trust when we already have a quite competent Supporters Club.

I appreciate that these are my opinions but it seems that I am not alone, I support the Football Club and leave the running of it to other people. When it was clear that Peter Ridsdale was making a fool out of our club, what did the Supporters Trust do? Nothing. It was down to a Forum to highlight these issues in the media and demonstrate whilst the Trust sat on their hands.

850-900 Members? Proves the point doesnt it.

What is the relevance in this in answer to a Direct Question on how the Quiz went and how much it raised other than a cheap shot at the people of the Valleys for not supporting a Trust Organised Fundraiser?

Your comparison is like comparing Cardiff City Vs Bury and Cardiff City Vs Manchester Utd in attendance stakes.

See my answer to Since62 below mate.

Also, the arogance of people involved such as the poster above doesnt realy help with attracting support now does it.
