Michael Beale sacked by Sunderland after just 12 games in charge
TalkSPORT

Michael Beale has been sacked by Sunderland after just 12 games in charge.

Sunderland have parted ways with Michael Beale just two months after appointing him as manager.

The former Queens Park Rangers and Rangers boss has been relieved of his duties following the 2-1 loss to Birmingham on Saturday against his predecessor, Tony Mowbray.

The Black Cats - who are 10th in the Championship - will now begin their hunt for their third manager of the season.

Beale, who took over in December, took charge of 12 games, winning just four games in that time.

And they're higher up the table than us!

What a mess. 6 months to 12 months will be a good innings soon for a manager in this league.

We wanted him here not so long ago...

A credited coach but two jobs (Rangers and Sunderland) since he stepped in at QPR have not worked out as the man in charge...

They were calling for his head after one game in charge.

He did ok at QPR and since then it’s all gone tits up.

It was a strange decision to sack Mowbray, I said that at the time. He’s unwell at the moment and has had to step back from the Birmingham job.

But he was building something good at Sunderland, got them to the top six last season in their first season back at this level.

Beale looked like a bad appointment to almost everyone. He was awful at Rangers and shouldn’t have been able to walk back into a Championship job.

It’ll be interesting to see where they look next but I expect Will Still will be high on their list.

Steve Cooper maybe? Beale was sacked at the same time that Palace appointed a new manager and Cooper was fancied for that. Did they know something?
