“ Grant through the middle? “

Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:44 pm

Bulut said today that Meite is unavailable for Saturday.

But we have Karlan Grant back - one of our best players this season in my opinion.

If he sticks with the same team, could be the perfect opportunity to play Grant through games the middle.

Also think Collins has to be dropped for obvious reasons.

Could look like this:

Horvath
Ng
Goutas
Phillips
Wilson-Esbrand
Turnbull
Siopis
Colwill
Ramsey
Grant
Diedhiou

I would, yes.

Same 4-4-2 as Tuesday with Grant for Meite and Wintle for anyone. 2 up top.

Exactly. If you're saying Grant through the middle, then your team has 3 numbers 10's.

Wilson-Esbrand on left (one of the better performers on Tuesday)
Colwill on the right (didn't look at fluid there, but not many options with players with confidence)
Grant has previous of playing through the middle and would give us pace

Yes Wilson-Esbrand looked lively Tuesday but Worcester has him as LB.
Colwill wasted out wide, needs to play behind the front man. Has improved a lot these last couple of months and should continue in that role but play the full 90 mins not get pulled off after 65 mins.
Yes Grant can play through the middle but we need pace out wide which Worcester team doesn't have.

Yeah I would try him through the middle. He knows how to drive forward and might create some runs for midfielders to pass to

I agree re Wilson but if we rely on him attacking too much there’ll be gaps down our left again.

Thats a JC problem, not Wilson-E.

Well if Bulut is going to play 532 tomorrow I would play Romeo at right wing back and put Perry Ng in the back where he has played many times before for us. I would start Grant up top alongside Diedhiou.
