Alan Curtis was great for us and one of a few greats that made the journey back down the M4 to Ninian park.

Great for us but unfortunately I still have the memory of him singing anti Cardiff songs in that pub in Swansea.

Alan Curtis, originates from the Rhondda, but spent a big part of his football career with Swansea, so it can't be any surprise that he favours that side of the fence.
Nevertheless, during his time with Cardiff, he was superb.

One memory I have is of a miserable Friday night in Tranmere during the 1980's. We beat them 0-1.
I drove there on my own and was sitting in their main stand and got chatting to some local Tranmere fans during the match. They commented that Curtis was a class above anyone else on the pitch. I had to agree.

Was a very good team assembled on a miniscule budget.

Experience of the likes of George Wood, Terry Boyle, Alan Curtis and Brian McDermott, tenacity of the likes of Phil Bater, Mark Kelly and Nicky Platnauer the flowing locks of Paul Wimbleton and the lethal pairing of Gilligan & Bartlett.

Great days, all hail Frankie Burrows!

Unfortunately ive lost a lot of respect for Alan Curtis after seeing him and Toe rag learn Britton singing anti Cardiff songs in a bar i always thought he was the sensible one out of that lot down there but he went down the same road as trundle and Tate strangely enough the video has disappeared something to do withe fact he had a mbe for services to football we prolonged his career and yes I do agree he was a good player and he scored one of the best goals ever seen at the vetch field but in a Cardiff shirt against Wrexham in the welsh cup final

Will always have time for Alan.

Obviously he went to the wrong side, but have met him and he’s a great person of the highest order.
