Wintle attempts an ambitious diagonal ball over to Bowler. It's the right idea, and is applauded by Bulut, but just over the winger. Goal kick. Good start from Cardiff here.

After a high-tempo start it's just settled a little. But Siopis picks out Grant with a lovely ball over the top, however the winger is tackled and it's a PNE throw.

Siopis is looking much livelier in the middle of the pitch today, zipping passes about and making good runs. Cardiff still just lacking something in the final third.

We're very slow in building from the back (painfully slow at times) giving PNE plenty of time to regroup while PNE seem to be trying to move the ball forward a lot quicker.

Chance! Wonderful from Grant, who skins two players as he jinks in from the left. He hammers one low from the edge of the box and Woodman saves well.

Very good from Cardiff. Siopis instrumentaal again. They work the ball out wide to Ng, who slides in Turnbull. The Scot hits a low cross and it's put out for a corner.

Grant and Etete link up nicely down the left. Etete is the one to hit it - again it's low and straight at Woodman, though.

Good start by Cardiff but still struggling to be fluid in attack. Love Bowler but he needs to start using his right foot or even switch the winingers. Killing a lot of attacks cutting onto his left everything! Probably score now!!

Wintle does well, there, spins Browne in the middle of the park and wins another free-kick. Encouraging stuff from the hosts so far in the opening half an hour.

GOAL! PRESTON!

Well against the run of play, Preston take the lead with a swift three-pass move seeing Jacobsen turn Goutas and Siopis to slide the ball into the net...

LATEST SCORE: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 0 PRESTON NE

Could see it was coming, a sucker punch goal!
Fuming because we’ve absolutely dominated.

Now we have to react.
Literally Preston first chance, and we’ve had 3 on target.

All it took was 3 passes and it's 0-1.

We take 33 passes for a tame shot straight at the keeper.

Toothless because it's too slow. Very frustrating.

Preston just playing with a little more confidence now after that goal. Cardiff need something, ideally before the break.

Harry Kane won't even score for us, can't get the ball to the striker. No one can cross
