Praise the Lord for that.

Overall I'm not impressed. We were led to believe we were going to get quality in the likes of Moore and that Baky guy. When it became clear they were not going to happen we still had on our radar some promising signing like that Lilic guy. They did not happen so now we were at the bottom of our shopping list.

I'm taking it at the bottom was Horveth and Turnbull. Personally I would say Turnbull should have been above Nat Phillips as I feel we have good cover at the back. We definitely need something in midfield and now I believe we have in Turnbull. TBH he is the only signing that impresses me. As for the other singings well lets just see shall we.

What is good is that we have managed to offload the Morison rejects, well most of them. I hear everyone saying we now have a better squad. Well that was not difficult to beat.

Wasn't the whole idea of getting players in to make squad better? Does it matter who we signed if we achieved that aim? Plus if what we've learned is true none of mentioned players were ever going to sign no matter how hard we tried.....

Don't be a sheep and believe all you read on here!

Taking all the 'done deal' bullshit away. (Moore, Brooks, Baya fella, Ilic). I believe we have improved over this window. We can't ask for much more than that in the circumstances.

Now get behind the new signings. I personally think the Turnbull signing will be inspired!

Taking away Bulut was let down on two signings he thought he had in the bag, it's hard to disagree with that, so I won't...

Well yes else what's the point but it was not a difficult exercise to achieve it is my point.

Re: Now the window is closed.

Another ticking over exercise by the board imo. How long can we go on like this. A few mediocre players in the door and people are happy. I am content that these new players will keep us in the championship, so good effort on the improvement, however my overall dissatisfaction with the board continues and until we have a new board we will continue to tick over. I will will continue to support the manager and team but not the board. Good luck against Watford :bluescarf:

Like it's been said club can't win no matter did.... so not sure what the problem is we were not going to get those 3 players from the vary beginning so did best they could in the situation whether new players enhanced team is immaterial we need players in!.... what else was club or bulut going to do sfa something people on here was hoping will happen so that they can laugh their bollocks off ? Anyway goal was achieved that's all that matters to most people.

Sometimes you talk sense Baked but I don't understand why you're bringing Tan into the discussion & generally insulting people just for disagreeing with you about the signings that were made. Your hatred towards Tan is well known so why do you bring him into discussions so much as it does you no favours when you do ?

I've been called a mofo on here just for disagreeing with someone (not you) and the covert & overt abuse some favoured people use against others is uncalled for & childish, surely we can all be adults here or is that what we've regressed to now? Acting like children.

Well said CA I genuinely belive that this is one of the clubs main problems some people don’t respect other poster views. When people start think they opinions are more important than others we are in trouble. I’d say 80 to 85% of supporters are accepting of tan and the things he has done good and bad. We are way better off than a lot of clubs.

I doubt we was ever in in for some names mention Ian tbh. Most of the stuff put online is bullshit. Although the turnbull one does excite me the most as seen him play a few times for celtic on sky even if its like they was playing div 2 teams at best vs them. I guess it depends how we line up for him to shine. We clearly went down the mangers list of who he wanted but that's down to backing I guess.

We shall see what happens over the next few weeks on the pitch all we can do. Although I'm happy eitherway as anything better than last season is fine by me which won't be hard :bluescarf:

Re: Now the window is closed.

Fri Feb 02, 2024 10:27 pm

I get what you’re saying.

It’s been said that we missed out on targets earlier in the window.

But I don’t agree that Turnbull is the only impressive signing.

Phillips is a good level Championship defender, other clubs in the league wanted him.

Horvath was promoted from this league with Luton, playing nearly every game. He’s also played for big clubs in Europe. Other clubs he’s played for have said we’ve got a goalkeeper by signing him.

Diedhiou is proven to score goals in the Championship. His game is clearly suited to this league. He also scored many goals in Turkey. Might have struggled to get minutes in La Liga, but that is obviously a much higher level than this.

Wilson-Esbrand joined Coventry last January and helped get them to the play-offs. He’s still highly rated by Man City. Has played for England at U21 level.

These are five good signings.

What people need to remember is that the January window is nothing like the summer. Not many clubs will make massive signings but they will strengthen their squads for the run in. That’s exactly what we have done.

These five enable us to play in a different way if needed and they improve our quality.

By the way, it’s not just us. Look at how little has been spent this month throughout the UK.

Part of the problem is people on here and on social media have been getting obsessed with Moore signing so because he’s gone to Ipswich, they’re making this window out to be a failure when it is anything but. By the way, him going to Ipswich was a better move for him, Bournemouth and Ipswich so I don’t really blame anyone.

Fact is we have improved the squad which is all this window is about. In the summer, more can be done to improve the squad but that’s not what January is about and never has been.

No the problem I think was that bulut was lead to believe he could get in some quality players but as things progressed he was informed that he was more into bargain basement sale players

I will say this , We are not going up and not going down this season.

Bulut thought he was being backed they let him down.

I want to finally see Bulut fully backed this Summer.

The gap between us and the Top 5 is massive and it’s got to be sorted this Summer.

NO more bullshit / lies etc

Cant Keep relying on Loans.

Tunball can be our start.

We know and have known for years we need a quality Striker.

This Summer it has to finally happen.

“This is the first year for me here in English football. It’s a limited budget to make five or six players. It’s not easy. So no one can say why we didn’t take certain players.”

“If I showed you my list of strikers… but in the last few days if you hear you’ve only got a budget of £10 you can’t do it. That only happened in the last three days! “

“So we have to look at other options, the best for Cardiff City to bring good players in.”
