Thought someone said that Crole lad had something about him? Well it ain't going improve up that shitehole.

Crole needs a run of games he’s still got potential from what ive seen
Benjamin is unlikely to play for the club again and will probably be released
Don’t know enough about Kavangah

The usual crap Jules.
These players are not being coached properly by our Coaches:
Purse and Chesterfield.
Plus unbelievable where the other two players are off to.
Was at Non League Torquay last season.
If he was good enough he should of gone to League 1 here.

So Benjamin who was often the under 21 captain and played a few games in our first team is going to Weston super Mare. Says it al. Purse and chesterfield haven’t a clue. They should fall on their swords and leave. Very embarrassing

1,000% agree with you.
They must both not be here next season, PLEASE.
The players have not even gone to the Top Non League, League instead will be playing clubs like Taunton etc
How can they improve?

Spot on, neither should be in the job.

They’ve got to both go.

You'd have thought by now that City would've picked up a few tips about picking and developing young talent from our 6 fingered cousins down West. We clearly haven't noticed the success there at that level. Even the Bumpkins piss all over us in this category. Shamefully poor we are.

Perhaps Man city or Liverpool just didn't fancy them !!!
I never understand the vitriol in these threads, the lads are finding out they are not going to make it in the EFL.
I guess that they are not there as a CCFC development, they are there to earn a professional or semi-pro contract next season.
Not many make it to the EFL, it's a tough game and these boys are finding that out.

I always say the same...
"We need to send out players to League 1" - Give it a rest.
They have to be wanted. The sad fact is no one does.
Although, right attitude by these players. Go and prove themselves too good for the level they've been sent and they'll hopefully be picked up by higher next year (or stay and get a game like Tanner).

so, I spoke to Darren Purse before Christmas, and i asked, how comes players don't go to the league one, league two teams. and he broke it down, due to the international transfer thingy, between clubs in wales and england, teams in england cannot loan one of our players for like 3 months, its a 6 month minimum deal, none league they can do shorter terms i believe. most league one teams get their loans from the premier leagues academies, so they won't be sniffing around at cardiff.
but the annoying thing is, we had players on loan at newport the other season, and the comments were, our players only going to league two on loan, they're not good enough it should be league one. if they went to league one, the comments would be, they should be involved with the first team if they are good enough.
been blaming Purse and Chesterfield, yet, when was the last time a player came through that could make the step up before a premier league team took them off us. if you get 1 player from the academy to the first team, thats a success. its very rare to get more really unless you are a team who is forced to use academy players or a team in the lower leagues with no cash

So the 3 players released are 19, 20 and 21, have been in our academy for several years and are unfortunately not good enough to break into our senior squad at this point of their careers.
How is that Darren Purse's and Gavin Chesterfield's fault? Why are those two getting blamed, but not all the coaches and scouts who have been part of our academy for several years before Purse and Chesterfield joined us?
Chesterfield has only been with us for 4 months. I guess as he hasn't come from a big club and isn't a big name, he will get the "Russell Slade" treatment.
What an astonishing, unnecessary attack from people who should know far better.

Spot on. Some common sense replies there. Not the over emotional nonsense as per above.
Could our academy be better? Yes.
Do we all want it to be better and produce plenty of first team homegrown talent? Yes.
Do we all wish the best for these young players? Of course.

As long as your satisfied with our results, the football and the quality of the players we are bringing through and after all the Media bullshit of our great talent etc that’s up to you.
But I am certainly not happy with any of it and nor are the majority of fans.
Darren Purse has been absolutely awful running the U21’s and players end up virtually NO where.

Simple question what's the point of having an academy if it doesn't produce players for the first team?

Mark Harris, Issak Davies, Ruben Colwill, Eli King
Are you serious in nearly 15 yrs?
Mark Harris a flop , played because we were skint and that’s why we were always near the bottom.
Isaak Davies 2 goals a striker in 36 games another flop.
Eli King so far played well for Morecambe.
Yes Rubin Colwill but we nearly messed him up

Bloody hell. On one hand...
Our young players and academy are shit.
The other, these players need to go play for League 1 clubs.
Make your bloody minds up?!
We all agree the academy can do better. But listen to yourselves. Just to suit the narrative.

Our players have not got good coaches in my opinion and it’s shows after 14 yrs.
Yes the Accademy is run badly and the proof is there.
Dreadful
And yes we’ve made out some players are way better than they really are a fact.
Surely you can see that.
The Accademy needs better coaches

skiprat wrote:Simple question what's the point of having an academy if it doesn't produce players for the first team?
So club should get rid of academy on bases it doesn't produce players for premier league clubs to steal because thats what happens? Purse may not be any good at his job but it is not him who gives youngsters their talent to succeed? And Why do people quote swans for producing players all they do is sell them and where exactly as that got them?? "NOWHERE " let's hope bulut sees the state of academy and brings in someone more qualified to nurcher talent that our new facilities was built for.

The players aren't at fault here, I don't understand who Purse still has his job.
These players are at the age where they need to be coached in a certain way to get the best out of their development. It's cleat that Purse isn't the man to do that and as such the players are suffering.

Queen’s Park have agreed a loan deal that will see Cardiff City striker James Crole join The Spiders on loan until the end of this season with the front-man set to be in the squad that heads to Inverness Caledonian Thistle this weekend.
The 19-year-old Welsh Youth Internationalist is a Graduate of The Bluebirds Youth Academy having progressed various age groups and making his first team debut in a Carabao Cup tie in September of last year.
James has also played in Welsh League Cup and FA Youth Cup ties for Cardiff and has bagged one goal in three outings for Wales at under-19 level.
Queen’s Park Head Coach Callum Davidson said: “James has a very good pedigree in the game and we believe that he is ready to be involved in senior football on a consistent basis now. He is a very dynamic player who is full of energy and he will add something very different to our attacking options.
“I look forward to seeing what he can bring to Queen’s Park.”

Is the problem also down to our recruitment? If erol can spot a player with ability why can't the academy find them if they have been in the job a long time? It can't be entirely due to coaching can it? Do we need a wider net?

The high class new academy facilities need a new high class coach. These players need pushing on and obviously Purse & co can't do it.

Good move for Crole.
I think he will do a job there too.
