Ex-Trabzonspor player on Bakasetas to Cardiff

Ex-Trabzonspor player Selahattin Kinali believes there is a chance Anastasios Bakasetas signs for Cardiff this month. Kinali played for Trabzonspor between 1997 and 2000 and 2002-23 and appeared on a sports talk show A Spor, discussing the Greece captain's situation.

Kinali said: "The player's choice is important. Does he want to stay in Istanbul? We know he doesn't want to stay in the city of Trabzon. He completed his mission there. Trabzon needs to big him a very nice farewell.

"Does he want to experience the English atmosphere? Or does he want to go to Greece back to his homeland? Or Istanbul? I don't know.

"If Cardiff becomes ambitious in their own league, they are currently a bit below, I still see the possibility for Cardiff as higher. The reason for Cardiff saying 'we're not interested' is them saying 'we don't have the money, lower the price a bit.' These are transfer tactics. If he wants to stay in Turkey, he would choose Besiktas."
