Luke Williams has been named Swansea manager this week.

He leaves Notts County to take the job.

He replaces Michael Duff, who was sacked in December.

Another risk take by them? Yes done well at Notts but translating non league/div2 football to the championship is not easy. Probably excellent at getting under 23s to sign for him...

If I had six fingers, or was a Swansea supporter, I would not be wholly impressed by this appointment

A bit bias that.

Without doubt a risk but what assignment isn't. I consider it a bit more like a calculated risk. County would have walked that National League if it was not for the freak happenings in Gog land. They were a match for them up there, it took an Ex England keeper to deny them anything. Now they are not far of them in this League 2.

They have played some nice stuff with less superior players. They have just come out of a bad run but still find themselves in the play off spots. This appointment does not surprise me at all.

From the outside looking in I feel whoever the caretaker manager was they were doing a alright job. I hope the new manager has them playing his old club next season in league 1.

Not sure it's a biased view as his previous post was working under martin at Swansea... so put 2 & 2 together and suspect they hope he takes them back to possession based football (Swansea way) that owners want.... as for risk well their owners have a policy of signing under 23s (cooper signed half England under 23s) with rare exception they're continuing this policy.... that is very risky policy in championship as need experience players aswell as manager time will tell if policy works.

Good points.

This does show at least the Jack board are consistent in what they want, possession football. I don't know but I just feel that is coming to an end. Have you noticed most teams are happy to allow their opponents to keep the ball then going for the press against them when they run out of space. i think this is why the Jacks are struggling atm.

There certainly been a shift in way possession based football is played as teams who press are more likely to win game than those teams who play pass after pass inside own half we seem to be caught in between both style mainly because we've lost Rambo and o'dowda at same time hence the indifferent results ... as for them well difficult to see things changing as garauntee they will sell best players as that's owners philosophy past 10yrs.... people wonder why Brighton have pushed on compared to us/swan well they've simply invested well and only selling odd player but inhancing team with replacement.... we did not bit hopefully we've got a brighter future with tan less involved in club.

They sell loads, but buy for peanuts and sell for tens of millions, the same as Swansea but are one hundred times better at doing it.

It's a horrible job to take at the moment as they demand "a style of play" yet have a severly declining squad of players. He either gets them significantly better or wont make it past the summer.

Where has all the transfer money gone from that club :laughing5: :laughing6: :laughing5: :laughing6:
