Erol Bulut reveals 'positive' transfer meeting with Vincent Tan and hopes for new Cardiff City signings next week
By Glen Williams

Erol Bulut said he held a "positive" meeting with Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan and hopes to get the transfer ball rolling as early as next week.

Bulut has been consistent in his messaging in recent weeks, saying he wants three or four players in during the winter transfer window. And, thankfully from his perspective, it looks like Tan will sanction the transfer plan Bulut has drawn up.

Speaking after the 2-0 defeat by Leicester City, which saw the Bluebirds drop to 14th in the Championship table, Bulut said: "Before Plymouth, we met (with Tan). The meeting was good. I read also his interview and we will not invest silly money. We are not in that position. But the good thing is we will invest to get some players, so this is a good thing.

"We are not a club that now invests millions to get four or five players. What is our budget? We will see. I hope soon that we can add a few players. He was positive. Our chairman Mehmet Dalman, we had a meeting together with him and it looks good. It's positive.
"

Asked if he expects players in as soon as the window opens, which is on Monday, he said: "I hope January 1! I cannot guarantee. But I hope it will be a good present for 2024! I hope next week."

Cardiff showed against Leicester that they really are a few levels below a team who still have the might of a Premier League outfit. And it will take a long time for them to get there, but Bulut hopes that bringing in some new faces will at least boost the base level of his squad as they enter the back end of the season.

"A few players, when we get them, they will push our players to a higher level," he added. "When you get quality players, your team-mates wake up and push to a higher level. This gives me positive things for 2024. I hope we can get it soon so we can increase our level. When we see what we've made from June until today, you can see the progress a little bit.

"It doesn't make everything perfect. To be perfect you need more.
"

Talking about the defeat by the Foxes, he said: "Today I can speak only positive things about my team. We made many positive things in the game, the pressing section, winning the ball, the details change football. One example, first half, when we concede the first goal, pressure on us, we lose the ball and they score. Second half, we had nearly the same situation, but the final pass was not good enough. These are the small details that makes the result of the game.

"We have to continue to work on it. I think we are in a positive way. A good way. We cannot compare ourselves with Leicester City. Now it looks like we are 14th, five points away from the play-offs. Three games before we were six points away, before this game we were two points away

Good news that is.
Sounds like he’s got one wrapped up already!

Good old Glen Williams. The man is a parasite. We’re all hoping for new signings next week. Weather we get them is another question.
