Is it a case of we don' t play against leicster end of
"they"dictate how we play
Or does bulut try a defensive game.
Or
a f.ck it lets have a go at them and go down 5 nil because we could end up
loosing 5 nil just sitting back
its a shame the team will not have the extra man behind them friday with a very poor crowd turning up i suspect
because most fans exspect a hammering and not prepared to watch us get thrashed
but these games tend to be the ones that turn out to be the most unexspected result
I will be making the journey down from mid wales after getting the nod from my mothers hospital bed to go and give your support
and after putting a cardiff symbol on the grave of cardiff cities 1928 FA cup manager george latham who' s grave in in my towns cemetery things could spookly work out in our favour.
But realistictly how many goal keepers can we put in the goalmouth.

Definitely not by playing out from the back !!
This has been a real problem for us over the last few games. We can't get out of our half and thus create limited chances as we are pressed straight away. Prime example being the hull game.
Against Plymouth colwill could not get an attack going as we couldn't get out of our half. I said to my son if we can stop playing out from the back and get the ball to colwill you will see the difference and that is exactly what happened, he ran the show until substituted.
Playing out from the back has to stop now !!

Yes we do struggle to play from the back mc guiness dropped a big b.ll.ck yesterday and collins just does' nt do playing out from the back.

2 up front and flood the midfield
4-4-2 diamond midfield drop the wingers and go more direct

I watched Leicester v Ipswich and I would be surprised if we managed to get any kind of result. Teams like Leicester and Southampton are just a level above us. Quality all over the pitch. I expect them to have all the possession and pick us off a couple of times. It is the championship though so anything can happen.

Sounds nuts but flood the midfield stop them playing the ball around. Also gives us time to spread the ball when we have it and give time to the wing back getting forward.
Equally we shouldn't really get caught napping as we'd usually have a minimum of 3 players back.

Think we should stick with the system we have.
Would be madness to try out a new system against the best team in the league.

Let them have the ball hit on the break, play as if we are the away team.

Lots of teams have run them close at home. Sheffield Wednesday even drew with them, so I think our mindset has got to be a positive one. No point in being afraid of them, they're hardly Man City.
Whatever we do, don't put them on a pedestal before a ball in even kicked.

We were unlucky to lose against them up there. So do we play the same way. However we have got worse since then and they have improved.

We can't counter attack for shit lately so can't see that being anything other than a 5-0

Attack is best form of defence. But honestly can't see where the last few games gives us any attacking chance against them and defensive weve been poor.
Posts above say dont give them respect etc which I agree with and they are not man City no. But they are the man City of the championship imo and I honestly can't see less than a 0-4 scoreline hope I'm wrong obviously

Flood midfield equally can drop back with two CDM when defending. Push up to cams when attacking.
They have the ability to unlock anyone. Atleast make it hard without being too negative.

Get a few crunching tackles in early on. See if they’re up for it. Warnock would’ve loved a game like this and expected the fans to be up for it too.

I would throw caution to the wind and go for it for the fans sake if nothing else knocking it about the back is not going to do anything against the likes of leicster
bit of a warnock attidude "charge"
sitting back is just not going to work and i think if we go for it
fans will accept defeat if we put in a shift
but hiding and to frightrned to go over the halfway line would be a very sad display.

11 men v 11 men in mortal combat. Just play our game but with controlled aggression, closing down space from 1st minute.
And ditch the libero defensive tippy tippy kamikaze nonsense at the back - get the ball up there with Etete and Colwill competing for it.

Could be the best form of attack.
Midfield 3 of Wintle, Ralls and Siopis. I’d put Colwill on the right of the front three then, with licence to come inside and dictate.

Agree we should get at them from the off the same as we should against any side at home. But we don't press high enough fast enough or in numbers enough to worry any player/team

If they can carve us open like Plymouth, the it's a humbling defeat.
I'd just like to see us make it difficult for them. Logic says they will win, don't make it easy.

What position is dropped to play 3 midfield?

Preston had the right idea against Leeds
Rough them up, keep it tight and play it to the feet of our wide men and perhaps Colwill and let them have a go
Preston's winger gave them fits as he was direct and fearless
Colwill I believe could have a big game here

Show no respect get in their faces and go more direct play like the HOME TEAM SHOULD Come on CITY

Leicester have a good squad - Here are a few from their local paper reporting who are missing tomorrow ...
LEICESTER CITY - have had Jamie Vardy (knee), Kasey McAteer (hamstring) and Marc Albrighton missing for a few games and the trio are not going to be fit to take on the Bluebirds. McAteer has been spotted in training ahead of the game, but Maresca said: "They are still out, all of them. They’re going to be out."

We probably won’t get any sort of result but I hope we just get one from Goutas as I’ve bet on him to score anytime at 20/1.
Fri Dec 29, 2023 10:20 pm
Pass around the back aimlessly, gift them a goal and don’t lay a glove on them.
