' BREAKING: VT WILL BACK BULUT IN JANUARY '

Tue Dec 26, 2023 4:24 pm

His attendance today indicates that he would but the below confirms he's going to invest for a push. Happy days and entirely logical:

Vincent Tan:

He told the BBC: "We trust Erol [Bulut] but we still have to look at budgets, we're not simply going to buy players. Hopefully in January we can bring in some... good players, we have to study you know?"

The Bluebirds owner is in Cardiff and will meet with Erol Bulut
By Jon Doel

Vincent Tan says Cardiff City have "a very good chance" of making the Championship play-offs under Erol Bulut and has suggested new signings will arrive in January.

But he warned the Bluebirds will not pay "silly money or inflated wages", as the scars from previous deals, specifically the big money signings of Andreas Cornelius and Josh Murphy under Malky Mackay, remain. Tan is in Cardiff for the first time in over a year, attending the Boxing Day fixture against Plymouth days before the January transfer window opens. Cardiff will be able to purchase players next month after having a transfer embargo, which has limited them to frees and loan signings in recent windows, lifted. You can follow updates from Cardiff City v Plymouth here.

He told the BBC: "We trust Erol [Bulut] but we still have to look at budgets, we're not simply going to buy players. Hopefully in January we can bring in some... good players, we have to study you know?"

"Some of our younger players maybe we should give them a chance to go to other clubs so that they can get more football time.

"I think we have a good manager in Erol and I believe we have a very good chance to be in the play-offs hopefully, God willing
."

He also made a demand for Championship clubs to get more financial help from the Premier League going forward.

"Surely we want to get promoted, it's tough being in the Championship - I think almost everybody loses money - and it's a terrible business to invest in something that loses money all the time," he said.

"The Premier League guys must help the Championship.

"I think we need to get much more TV money. Now we're getting £3m and we need to get at least another £8-10m more so that the Championship can survive.

"Without the Championship the Premier League won't be that great, every time three (teams) are relegated, three go up - it's new blood coming in.

"Almost 13 years I'm the owner here, I've put lots of money in
."

A few sensible additions with Ramsey and O Dowda coming back will see us ok
Top 10 for me would be a good realistic achievement
I think Bulut deserves a contract extension and a decent budget in the summer too

I am going to nail my colours to the mast. I think we will buy decent players in January which will enable us to finish 5th or 6th

We will then beat WBA in the final to get promoted :bluescarf:
