Plymouth haven’t won away all season

Sun Dec 24, 2023 11:54 am

Plymouth have played 11 away games in the Championship this season.

They haven’t won any of them, losing seven of those games.

Their manager has also just left to take the Stoke job and they haven’t replaced Steven Schumacher yet.

So they will just have a caretaker manager for when they play us.

We should really be looking to build on yesterday’s win by getting another three points here.

Think it’s important we win this game as we then have a tough match against the best team in the league, Leicester, a few days later.

This is a kiss of death post! Ripe for a 1-0 away win to the Pilgrims! Been here so many times when City have screwed these games up. :-)

It's kind of a derby match or sorts. Does Bulut know this?

Last time we played them they turned us over 1-0 after we dominated the game.....and it was on Boxing Day......at CCS.

Wasn’t it Plymouth who beat us at home on Boxing Day in our first promotion season, or around then, after a record 10 or 11 straight wins at home !!??

Now I’m worried !!!!

That was Peterborough [1-2] when Dwight Gayle ripped us a new one with his pace and Marshall stopped about four one on ones with him.

It was our first season at CCS. We dominated the game but lost to a late goal, about 5 minutes to go.

Argyle will be hoping a change of manager will lead to a change of luck on their travels as they seek their first away Championship win of the season, at the 12th attempt, against Cardiff.

Plymouth Argyle will look to extend their mini-unbeaten run in the Championship to four matches when they travel to South Wales to play Cardiff City on Boxing Day.

Cardiff came from behind to win 2-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and moved up to 10th position, while Argyle recovered from falling 3-1 behind in the 62nd minute against Birmingham City at Home Park to draw 3-3. That result came after a 0-0 draw away to Queens Park Rangers and a 3-2 home defeat of Rotherham United in the final two games of Steven Schumacher's tenure as manager.
