Hindsight is a wonderful thing, particularly in football; but Toshack was a gamble at the time and one the club didn't want to take on...

Mistake? Retrospectively yes of course...

But for me, Tan forcing Sam out after giving him an honorary position at the club he helped to rebuild...

I honestly believe they could (still could) have been a force for this club had they been able to bury their differences and separate their roles; one football and one finance...

Selling Toshack to Liverpool in January 1970/71 season, he should have been told to stay and if we didn't get promoted he could have left at the end of the season. I have no doubt if he stayed we would have got promoted to league 1 .(premier league today)

For me, not 'the' worse thing but it was all a fiasco and no one came out of the whole debacle intact...

Yeah I’d say the sacking of Malky was a huge error, both by Malky himself to throw away his career, but also possibly from Tan for not sitting down and sorting things out together. I genuinely believe he could have been a David moyes at Everton type manager for us. Establishing us in the premiere league for many years.
