Erol Bulut punched a door and slept for two hours after bad Cardiff City display but praises big strides club has made
The Bluebirds boss spoke ahead of the trip to Hull City this weekend
When asked how he felt the day after the defeat, he said:
Erol Bulut:
"A lot better than yesterday. I went home, first of all, and watched the game again.”
“Still disappointing. I slept only two hours. It doesn’t matter, this is my job. Sleep less and work more. We have to clear these situations.”
Bulut said he was "always punishing himself" due to his aggression during his playing days, breaking his hands and hurting his feet on doors and tables after defeats. He thinks he has calmed down now, but when asked how he took his frustrations out after the defeat on Wednesday, he said with a wry smile: “It was a door. The door was strong enough, I felt it on my hand.”
"The communication and the issues between the lines we have, technically, between the players. The connections are not quite good enough right now," he added.
"There are too many things like this, what happened in previous matches, where we lost points. I am new here as a manager in the Championship, maybe it’s a normal situation, but it is difficult for me to accept this."
"I mean on the field. In the last two games, the connections between the players, tactically, is not how I was expecting it. The connections and communication, the automatic movements, have to be better.”
"Before we were not taking points maybe, but it was much, much better. At Southampton, they were better than us, but we were better than we were the last two games. I hope on Saturday we will be better connected."
"At the start of the season, after a few games had passed, I said where we could be. You [press] also asked me about the target, but I never mentioned a target. Only once I said it, I hope we can be in the first 10 positions in the table," he added.
, we have worked really hard. Maybe there wasn’t an expectation we would be in this position or in the play-offs, many supporters or other people would say we would be closer to 15th, 16th, 17th. So, still we are in a good position, three points from the play-offs. We have to keep close to the play-offs until the end of the season."
