“ A valuable three points “

Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:01 pm

That was not pretty, for either team.

Clear that Millwall came hoping they would get a point.

But we got the three points.

Games like that, it doesn’t matter how you win - as long as you do.

A valuable win for us today and we move on to Birmingham on Wednesday.

I can see a similar game coming up against Birmingham this Wednesday with hopefully the same result.

In fact our remaining games until the New Year I see being played the same way. As long as we pick up the points I will not care one iota.

Last season we would have lost 1-0
It was a terrible game, no doubt about it
So so slow
But nobody will remember that and a massive 3 points

Agree with you and Ned, Ian...

We took a valuable 3 points against a team we allowed to come at us all too frequently and we nearly paid the price...

For me, Joe Ralls introduction was the game-changer, as he offers more offensively than Ryan Wintle...

Runar Runarsson is, for me, improving game by game and on current trajectory Erol Bulut may have the last laugh on the Runarsson v Alnwick debate...

A big game against Rooney's Birmingham Backslip XI on Wednesday; but we must be very guarded against assuming it will be easy...

Happy for today, though...! :D :ayatollah:

Agreed re ralls. He offers so much composure too.

He’s like the the most underrated and also
Highly rated at the same time !!

Etete did well too I thought

Too be honest I was bored shitless! Negative football in a library. How football has changed and not for the better!

3 points is 3 points; or would you rather we played (shall we say) more freely and lost...? :?

Lol. You are spot on Sven.
But he is right about it being played in a library.

A Valuable Win to keep us close to that Top 6 .

Isolating the away fans like that will always keep the atmosphere down.

Grange is dead, ninian half dead, no real singing section.

Just seems soulless now. Even our first few seasons in this stadium were fine.

Playing at home against a poor side totally out of form and we go out primarily looking not to lose the game. Sideways, backward, with no style of play from where I was sitting. People are paying good money to watch that. Obviously you're just happy to get a result.

We would have drawn or maybe even lost that game last season so it shows the progression and believe in the team that we can eventually break these sort of teams down.

I've said this a number of time but Erol won't listen to me (I wonder why)
If Ralls starts we are fine but when we take him off we lose control of the game. When he came on yesterday the game changed in our favour.

Barryblues

You are bang on my son. I'd rather watch Ange-ball and entertaining front foot football (with the risk of losing), than the turgid, risk averse walking football we've been subjected too over the past 3 matches.

Do I want to win and get 3 points at the expense of seeing positive, exciting play with chances created? No I don't and that's why there's more pissed off supporters than happy ones based on the last 3 performances.
