My thoughts with his family & friends at this sad time.

Your right his nickname was Pitkin- it was the old, rather chubby, feller that played Mr Grimsdale. Absolutely loved those films, A stitch in Time, Square Peg, The Early Bird- where his horse Nelly was drugged with poisoned apples by a new milk operator who used electric milk floats rather than a horse - Consolidated Diaries. Tremendous films that i love as a kid and growing up. Loved doing his impression..... "Mr Grimsdale"!!

RIP you comic genius- you made thousands of kids and adults laugh until thier ribs were sore.

He claimed to have walked from London to Cardiff in 1929, aged 14, in order to find work. Found a job as a cabin boy in the merchant navy, interesting.

One hell of a life story. His father was a drunk and through him out at the age of 14 I believe too.

RIP Norman, you made me laugh many many times.

Its hard to make someone laugh without being crude or swearing but he could. A total legend :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
