Across the river Clyde from where I was brought up.

The castle on Dumbarton Rock was a Welsh castle……..how many of you Welsh boys knew that?

Pre Roman times The Welsh ran the show right up the west of Great Britain to Strathclyde. Hen Ogledd (Old North), the castle at Dumbarton was sacked by a fleet from Dublin, not mad Paddies but Vikings. History is not as simple as we think. I’d love to find out more about the Strathclyde Welsh but struggling to find out much about them.

This might help, Jules...

The 'Britons' held the western edge of what is now the UK; from Cornwall in the south, through Wales and up so far as southern Scotland... :ayatollah:
