Our best kit by miles.
Nothing has ever come close, apart for the yellow away kit version. I’d love to see it return.

It was made by Umbro.
We did bring out a yellow version of the kit around the 2000/2001 season made by strike force.

I had a top for Xmas 77/78. Don’t think I took it off til Easter!!!

Should be our permanent kit really.. I had the shirt for Xmas 78, and shors and socks later. You could get a decent belt of static from the shirt..

I really don’t understand why the clubs kit suppliers have not done a modern version of this kit , Surely they know that it seems to be most fans favourite
It may be it is only the favourite of fans of a certain age and young fans don’t like that kit Who knows , but i would love to see city playing in that kit again

I think it is an age thing, but it is easily my favourite city kit, along with the yellow away version. The VansDirect kit for the last season at NP was the closest we have come in the modern era for me

Love that kit and have that shirt.

Was also a big fan of our 2010/11 home kit.

Went into the superstore before Swansea and have to say the third kit looks very good, shame about the badge.

Best kit by a country mile, bring it back for the Premier next season.

I'm not a big fan of these current kits - churn 'em out, identikit crap - no imagination. Lazy - just want your £55 for some cheap polyester.

I'd love that 70s shirt back. Also prefer white shorts to blue.

If i remember right ninian park never sold kits until later years .Im sure my Dad bought the entire kit for me in Giles sports corner of Caroline Street and st marrys st .
I used to make my Dad go in there just to look at that kit.
I was amazed when i actually got one .
Was hooked as a cardiff fan forever and wore it with pride at glyncoed junior school pentwyn .
I was the only cardiff fan surrounded by Liverpool fans telling cardiff where shit .

Yea maybe we were shit but cardiff boy and cardiff was my team.
Hated Liverpool ever since .
Great days loved them so many players i can remember not the best but we all loved ccfc

I remember buying my first City shirt ( the original Buckley brewery top) from a sports shop that used to be next to the Model inn pub in town.

Yes it is Linden, he was an Aberbargoed boy, one of 3 footballing brothers, his eldest was Peter played for Merthyr. He started playing his junior football at Bargoed YMCA and went on to city from there. Linden was heavilly involved with the Swans academy a few years back where we met at a conference in north Wales. He was not a great footballer but worked hard to make the best of what he had, he was a nice lad

I remember that transfer well, Karl Elsey and Nigel Vaughan signed for the City and linden Jones,Tarki Micalef and John Lewis went to Somerton Park. I think we got the worst of that deal.

Loved that kit. I remember by parents buying a “knock off” version of it for me down Bessemer Road market and my mum having to buy the badge separately and sew it on !!!

Would love them to do an updated version one season !!

The club sold the COPA design shirt a few years ago, I bought one, excellent quality.

I believe the original shirts of this design were made by Umbro... Very stylish in the mid seventies, and a style that has stood the test of time, imo.

My first shag was Old Holborn rough cut.. highly memorable indeed.
