I Believe,We never paid our agreed instalments to the Inland Revenue and as I have stated weeks ago and got slated for it, Jan 6th is coming and NOW THE TAXMAN WANTS THE LOT IN ONE INSTALMENT £2.7 Mill.

Makes sense Annis...but have we got £2.7 million? I doubt it unless the directors chip in. Then theres this months wages...ofcourse things change quickly though and anything can happen at our club.

Corky, I heard today that, the PR has asked the malaysians to and tried to a deal at the same time, exchange for shares. Only what I have heard, from a good source who you know well.

if u miss an instalment they always claim they want the full amount but if you reach agreement to catch up with either full arrears then they go back to original agreement

Thanks chaps - Another addictive night on this board is sending me to bed much much later than I planned..... AGAIN!!!
Things seem to be getting sticky by the sounds of it (shit or bust on the 6th and all that) - Look, when can I go to bed and dream for once, rather than have nightmares about my club

Annis
do you believe the Malaysians could have promised the funds to clear the tax bill but have not delivered so the club is in the shit so they can come in at the last minute and get the club on the cheap?

Sack, that is a possibility, but it all went quite in my opinion when the Tax debt originally came out from the high Courts.

Ridsdale lost his cool when the Echo disclosed the Tax thing, in November, which prob saw of the Malaysians. Not so much because of the financial effect, but because they are cautious by nature and deal with 'people' rather than organizations.
This last relevation will have seen them off for good.
I will cancel my Zebra agreement when it comes. One, I don't trust anyone to honour it -it isn't legally binding, and secondly, if 80% of us did the same, the club would go into administration. End of Ridsdale, lose 6/7 players, but still a Championship side.

I'd say The City have got the £2.7 million .The ticket sales which have gone up from 3000 to 11000 will cover that.
The question has to be how will the club find the money to sign players as promised in the season ticket deal?
Robbing Peter to pay Paul.
No pun intended.

But a good one, all the same! I assume Paul works for the tax man. I know who "Robbing Peter" is!

With regards this whole HMRC episode can I put it into a more personal context. Imagine you were in debt to HMRC but you knew you'd be able to pay them in the near future. They'd given you a winding up order but then you'd contacted them and sorted out a repayment plan. How would you feel if someone then leaked this information to the press, especially if it then affected your chances of getting a loan or financial investment in a business you owned?
Wouldn't you be slightly pissed off? I can see why Ridsdale was annoyed that it all came out. It's no surprise stuff is kept behind closed doors so much when everything is sensationalised and people just panic straight away.
How can we be negative until news confirming our demise comes out? As far as I am concerned we are a club who have a big game at home on Saturday and unless someone tells me otherwise about our club I am supporting us and being positive.

The club has an amount from the pre season ticket money, although how much is anybody's guess, although the tax man wants his full lumper, I'd be very surprised if they refused to accept say 1.5 million down payment in the 1st instance, then it will be more words / counter words, I don't think it's in the interests of the tax man to get the club wound up, it's brinkmanship at the highest level. We see stories week in week out in national newspapers that this club then that club are in severe financial difficulties and they only have 2 / 3 days etc etc, the reality is none of them get wound up, there is always a last minute deal cut.
It's a bit of a Judas situation at the moment, I would love to see the liar get his comeuppance, but that would mean serious harm to our club so the best option is that, the pre-season ticket money is used to pay a chunk of the tax off leaving Dave Jones didly squat to play with in the transfer window.
I know it will mean that the liar has obtained our money upfront on false pretences, but if that's the way the club has to survive, then so be it.

Totally agree, but the club then reneged on their side of the bargain and din't pay the first instalment that they'd promised to, you can't blame the press of the moles for that part of the deal surely, all they have done is make us aware of it, after the Muni meeting, I was under the impression we had paid it and everything was sweet. But it would appear that either we have lied to theHMRC or at the very least misled them, allegedly.

We probably missed the date because the vast majority of season tickets were sold in the last week of December. I'm not sure though that HMRC can demand the full payment now without a court order and they don't have one as they withdrew it.
By Jan 6th the majority of the cash should be in and in theory we should be able to make the £1.2m installment payment.

We have to pay it in full hence the need for season tickets. Cheers Pistol Pete, you've mugged us off again

You really don't seem to have grasped the effect that administration and the subsequent inevitable relgation would have on our club.

Look, I am sure that if the Riddler had the money to pay HMRC then he would have, so if he uses the extra money gained from recent season ticket sales to keep the club afloat then so be it. I feel mugged off that he has blatantly lied to us but I would rather have a full of shit chairman than have no club. Simple choice really
