I always wanted to play in England. I always wanted to test this football. I was really happy to be joining Cardiff.

Ever worry a new manager coming in would make it hard for you to make the team?

To be honest I wasn’t thinking about it. I was just thinking about staying in the league and if a new manager came in I would just need to improve my game and try to be myself again.

Another derby

A derby is a derby, Swansea is the biggest one. We don’t want to lose to teams like this and we’re going to play with all our heart and make the fans proud, playing to the structure of the coach.

Pleased to be back on international scene?

Me not going to the national team was for my own self. I’ve been out for a long time and the gaffer told me not to because he wants me to rest due to the issues with my hamstring. I think the advice was the right one for me.

I just play and if the national team coach is impressed with the performance, he will stick with me.

Playing under Bulut?

He has his structure. He knew what he wanted us to do and we as players are doing what he wants us to do. When we do that, we get results.

He jokes when he has to joke, but when it's business time he switches and it's back to business

Camaraderie in group

We are lucky to be part of this great team. This set of players, it’s hard to find in clubs. I’m a lucky guy to be at a place like this.

Obviously I'm enjoying my season so far. It’s good to be back in the team.

How long did it take you to rebuild confidence after injury?

I was only sad that I was injured and couldn’t help the team. I wasn’t scared of anything. I just thought when it’s time for me to play again, I’ll be good.
