More bums on seats at Ninian

Sun Oct 03, 2010 8:34 pm

Watching the chelsea v arsenal game earlier on sky and couldn't help but notice that there was only 3 seats between the home and away fans!!! Didn't even look like there was a small fence there like we have. Anybody know why we can't use more seats towards the away fans? I know people are going to say safety, past reputation etc but if chelsea/arsenal fans can be controlled that close to each other then surely we can get a few more paying fans on seats at Ninian?
Ps. It will always be Ninian!! Lol

I cant comment about the police but the stewards have no say in how many fans the club lets in and the distances between home and away fans, and saying that stewards are looking for an easy life and should earn our money is rubbish. As a steward i can tell you i work my socks off every game to keep fans safe and deal with complaints that come to my attention especially on high profile games and trust me the money really isnt worth it. I work as a steward because i love my club and i love the fans that cardiff have.

Really?

Serious question then. Why are you and your colleagues like Nazis when people stand up in the Ninian
yet let them do it in the Canton stand?

If you love the club so much why are you contributing to making the ground lifeless and souless.

As far as im concerned we are only doing as we are told from the control room, if the control room wants you to sit down we go to work and try our best to get you sit down, personnally and i might get in trouble for this but i think its great when i do go and ask people to sit down and you do when i make my way back to pitch side and all i hear is a chant 'stand up if you hate swansea' if you can see the smile on my face you would know there and then ill fight your corner for your right to stand but im not that far up the heirachy to make those choices.
