" Always admit when you're wrong "

Tue Oct 24, 2023 8:44 pm

I have said repeatedly that I don't think Robinson is the answer, that he doesn't work hard for the team. I've also said that it's dangerous to go into an away game with an all out attack mindset from the start.

Tonight shows how much I know

That first half was probably our best 45 minutes of the season so far. I know Huddersfield were terrible but, for once, we capitalised against a poor team. In previous years, we've let ourselves be dragged down to that level.

Bowler, Meite, Siopis and - yes - Robinson were outstanding.

Credit also to Erol Bulut for going with a more attacking team.

We caused them all sorts of problems and I see no reason why the same team shouldn't start against Bristol City.

A brilliant night topped off by a classic Perry Ng free kick :bluebird:

Now he needs to do it again on the weekend.

I'll admit it. I thought he'd be a sulker too.

Worcester

You've got your balls out and made an admission there.

Takes a proper geezer to front up like that. I doff my hat to you sir.

I think tonight may show that Bulut has something about him. More than I thought initially. Well done for brave changes that paid dividends

We also rode our luck well, a better team would have punished our mistakes ie when Mcguiness slipped. Not taking anything away from the lads they didn’t stop running from start to finish

Big night for Robinson and he delivered. That front four would give any defence in this league problems.

I was also wrong in saying that he could have been a bit of a diva but I'm happy he proved me wrong. He got lucky with the goal but his chasing & tracking back and breaking up play was first rate.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. He’s our classiest player for me, experienced, knows where the goal is, HAS to start.

Don't be too hard on yourself Ned.

let's be honest but Bulut gave the impression he was against attacking from the off. That what he had been saying all week. Perhaps he was trying to fool us all of which he did.

Worcester, football would be a less exciting sport if we all had the same opinion. I always enjoy reading your posts and will continue to do so but I'll admit that this one is my favourite so far :laughing5:

Hats off to you :thumbright: :ayatollah:

So Bulut calling him out has worked ? .

Bulut calling him out has worked plus he was always good enough regardless - better than Ugbo and more useful offensively than Wintle

There was no need for him to go public.

There was no need for him to go public.

Maybe was the last option and the kick up his arse he possibly needed

He’s done it to Tanner and now Robinson and their games have kicked on from it.

Instead of trying it on players like Ojo or Davies he’s shipped them out.

I think he probably knew that Robinson and Tanner would take it on board the correct way and that’s why he’s done it. Good man management.

It is unprofessional and there is no need for it. Name me other managers that have done this. You never saw the likes of Ferguson, Dalglesh or any of the other top managers slagging their own players off.

Fergie did it plenty of times.

Pep does it, Arteta does it, Warnock did it ……….

As long as they back it up with a one to one constructive discussion with the player you have to trust in their man management skills. It won’t work for every player but for certain players it’s what they need.

Bulut seems to have a bit of everything about him and, from what I hear, he’s pretty much universally liked in the club.

He could be the first manager we’ve had for donkeys years that will go on to bigger and better things after doing a top job for us !!
