Cardiff manager Erol Bulut: "Whichever team”

Sat Oct 21, 2023 6:05 pm

Cardiff manager Erol Bulut:

"Whichever team scored first was going to win the game. Neither side created many chances.

"The referee said it [Goutas' disallowed goal] was offside, but the linesman didn't put his flag up. I was expecting something different… but at the end of the game, when I watched the replay, I could see it was offside.

"In the end, we have to create more chances. We need more communication and focus on the pitch."

2 centre halfs
RB who can start as a centre half
LB great defender and runner but not a passer or crosser
two "6"'s (Siopsis and Wintle)
1 "8"
2 inside forwards (winger) but with heavy defensive duties
Ugbo who I have no idea what he is 9,10, inside forward , the jury is well and truly out for me, but he is not this level

and we wonder why we can't create

need a "9" so desperately, we just can't build a thing as we can't keep the ball in the top third and if we do Wintle is our attacking linking from the midfeild to attack.

Question for EB, why not publically question Ryan Wintle's ability to create something?

I am not starting to doubt the boss, he needs 18 months, but he needs Colwill's ability to keep the ball (admittedly, didn't do a great job today) or CR's championship class at the loss of a runner.

Llan Bluebird

Affirmative - you are correct.

Bulut: if you want your team to "create" more chances, then don't play 3 defensive midfielders, don't play Ugbo from the start and trust your creative players to create goals.

Football ain't complicated: start Huddersfield match with Robbo, Tanner and Meite. If Etete is fit, start him. We may then win the match.
