ol Bulut says he doesn't know what happened to his Cardiff City team after their 1-1 draw with Watford and believes his team "totally changed" after going ahead in the first half.
The Bluebirds went in front via a Mark McGuinness volley from a corner, but sat off and invited pressure and the Hornets should have really gone on to win the game. Vakoun Bayo had a number of chances, while Tom Ince missed a golden opportunity to clinch the three points. To get the latest Bluebirds news sent straight to your inbox, sign up here.
In the end, Cardiff were fortunate to come away with one point. And that is a school of thought shared by Bulut, who claimed his team were "lucky" to avoid defeat at Cardiff City Stadium.
Erol Bukt:
“My players are nervous and anxious and make mistakes.”
"We see the 95 minutes, the first 35 minutes was good and what we expected and how we wanted to play. But I don't know what happened after we scored the goal. My team totally changed. I don't know the reason," the manager said.
"Too nervous, too stressed, too many individual mistakes. Through these individual mistakes the opponent got the chances to score the goal. They could have scored two more. In the end, with the one point, we have to be happy today."
ave to have individual meetings with them [the players] to ask why. Because when we can play the ball forward, we have to play forward and not back. Only if we want to switch the game we can use the goalkeeper, but not too much. Maybe to be secure we play back, but if we can push, we have to push."
"If you see these 11 games, if you ask if I am satisfied, yes I am, but not with what we showed today," he said. "Not with this performance. This I don't want. Even if we lose points, we have to show fighting spirit and we didn't show it after 35 minutes. This I don't like."
