One man team?

Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:37 am

Annis put a topic on here a few days ago about how he hopes we are not a 1 man team and will have to relie on Bellamy this season. After travelling to Barnsley yesterday i think with a fit Bellamy all season we will go up without him we will struggle. It was virtually the same team that struggled so badly last saturday and tuesday, bellers gives us a extra 20-25% and the other players seem to increase their performance when he plays. So i think we will become a 1 man team and bellers staying fit could be DJ get out of jail card this season. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

We have played 7 times without Bellers and without playing well we are 2nd. With CB39 we could win the league. Without him we will make play offs.

People forget that we are missing drinks and chops and big Oli has missed a few games as well. Defensively we have hardly played the same 5 all season.

If we can avoid injuries and strengthen in central defence we will go up.

Yes, Chopra is the one man who can do a lot of what Bellamy can.

- Fire the side up
- Frighten the opposition defense with non stop hassling
- beat a man

drinkwater has immense work-rate and energy and this was sadly lacking on Tuesday.

Also it seems Oli and Jay are getting back to something like their form.

Hopefulyl Whitts and Burke can pick up a bit as well now with pressure on their places and Koumas will be up to full speed by the end of the break.

For me when Jay is on his game we play well as a team. For me if any player was our one man team it would be him :ayatollah:

The trouble is when Jay is playing and we are not playing well he gets frustrated and he gets booked like last tuesday .

But do agree when he is on form he is a great player but if get the luck of no injuries having Jay Chops & Bells all on fire then we will be a scary to other championship teams, my main concern is the defence, the same last season plus our midfield was not good last year and out defence struggled as did Marshall on corners and crosses

I agree about the defence. If we still had Johnson/Loovens/Gabbs/Ginge we would walk this league
