Brilliant Cardiff City player ratings v Swansea City as game-changer Tanner stars and Siopis fantastic
Here is how the Bluebirds rated in the South Wales derby clash with the Swans
via walesonlineJak Alnwick 7Came out and punched an early cross clear and set the tone for a commanding display in his own penalty box. Was brought in for Alex Runarsson and Erol Bulut's decision was justified. Didn't really have a whole lot to do, to be honest.Perry Ng 7Really added to Cardiff's attack down the right, even if he was caught out once or twice defensively in the first half. A solid operator.Mark McGuinness 9Becoming one of the most consistent performers in this Cardiff side. Imperious in the air, cool on the ball and his positioning is improving week by week, seemingly.Dimitrios Goutas 8Also very good in the air and done most things well. Was put in a couple of awkward positions near the corner flag and produced mixed results. Generally very good, though.Jamilu Collins 8Put in a bone-cruncher of a tackle in the first half and got the City crowd on their feet. Linked up well with Grant ahead of him and rifled a few dangerous crosses in.Manolis Siopis 9Like a little whippet or terrier about the place. If he hits the deck he is invariably back up within the second. Showcased his passing range, too, with a few lovely cross-field passes. Fantastic display, must have covered every blade of grass.Ryan Wintle 7Chosen in place of Joe Ralls and started a little shakily with one or two errant passes. Grew into it after that, though.Yakou Meite 8Was energetic and gave Josh Tymon one or two things to worry about. Had a chance on the stroke of half-time, swivelling and shooting, forcing Carl Rushworth into a good save and did so again twice after the break with 25-yard piledrivers.Aaron Ramsey 9Looked a class act when he was on the ball, always thinking one step ahead of his team-mates. Lofted a few cute and clever balls over the top of the defence to no avail. But was undoubtedly the creative spark and got his reward with that penalty goal.Karlan Grant 8Looked confident running at his defender but, like Meite, just that end product lacking. Bright enough, though. You feel his first goal will set him on a little spree.Ike Ugbo 7Pleasing to see him link up play so well. Produced a brilliant header to set up Meite's chance before the break. Taken off for Tanner in the second half.SUBSOllie Tanner (Ugbo 70) 9 (star man) Well, what can you say? First goal for City and it was an utter belter against Cardiff's bitter rivals. Cut inside and smacked the ball into the bottom corner with his first touches of the game. Then, won the penalty for Ramsey. Game-changer.Kion Etete (Meite 80) N/ACallum Robinson (Ramsey 80) N/A
