Erol Bulut: “We need time and these players need time, these

EROL BULUT:

“We need time and these players need time, these players are still thinking of the last two seasons.”

"It’s not easy after 2-0 to come back to get a draw, but we had enough chances."

t's the first game in front of our fans. It shouldn't be like this, we should be aggressive and believe in yourself. There wasn't a reason to be nervous," Bulut said.

"Many players, I think they still have in their head the last two years, how the Championship was for them - it was not good. Some players still have that in their mind. I need to push it out of them, to feel confident and believe in themselves and what they are doing to achieve our target.

"I need to push these negative things out of him, we need positive things.

"We have to work on it to get it out of them. I played for 20 years, it's not easy, but we will do everything possible to put it out of their heads.

"With many players, individually, from my time when I was playing, how I tried to handle it I took advice with communication, we will try and make it better for them.

"Last year is last year, it's finished. We cannot think back about what happened in the past. We have to look forward to what we can get rather than what we've lost. This was last season. Now it's now."

If only they were a bit more aggressive from the off, would have been a completely different game. It was the opposite to aggressive for 65 minutes. He talks a lot of sense though.

Very interesting comments.

Glad he's putting it on himself to make them forget about last season.

But clear he thinks last season they had a certain state of mind and he's going to stop that.

It’s virtually the same for every manager / team / Club regarding time

One thing that I will say about bulut which I was pleasantly surprised about was the fact he came onto the pitch to applaud the fans at the end even though we lost. Quite refreshing as last couple we’ve had straight down the tunnel after the final whistle. I do think we’ll come good under bulut. He’s not hiding away from anything in the press conference and I agree with alot of what he said

He comes across well in interviews and his summary of the game was fair. I will give him the benefit of the doubt today that a number of players let him down with very poor performances and individual mistakes. He is right to identify the psychology of the team being wrong too. However, that level of lethargic performance cannot happen again especially at home. I am sure he knows it and unfortunately today's result put lots of pressure on him already as we will mostly likely be in the bottom 5 and searching for our first win against Sheff Wed. Whatever, happens it is important to be patient though especially at boardroom level. Sacking managers every five minutes is not the way forward.

Spot on.

I'd back him all season personally, whatever happens (up to a catastrophic point like us being six points from safety with ten games to go which I can't see).

We do have some right 'clowns' who purport to support our club. Calling for the Manager's head after 2 games ( when we are under a transfer embargo ). Some of the above 'fans' haven't got the brains they were born with. Embarrassing over reaction to a narrow home defeat when we hit the bar twice. Wise up or take your 'support' elsewhere.

Agreed. It’s not going to happen overnight, I think Bulut will get us going in the right direction but he needs to have time from fans and the board. There’s a few new players again who need time to gel . Plus supposedly a couple of more signings to come. Bulut also is not shying away from performances in press conferences is saying is. Which is refreshing as he knows what needs sorting rather than the usual BS from previous managers saying we tried we will dust ourselves down and go again.

Personally My real judgment will be after 12 games, we will know which direction we are going in.

Sadly, for me he set up too cautiously for a home match against a team that got hammered last week. He left substitutions way too late. Grant is clearly out of sorts at the moment and thats causing problems with him and O’Dowda. It’s very disjointed down the left. Thankfully Jamilu looked more like his old self when he came on and O’Dowda looked more comfortable up front. Hopefully those two will start next game how they finished yesterday. Bowler was also out of it yesterday and even got in the way of everyone in the second half.
Robinson showed exactly why he should be starting. The game started changing as soon as he came on as gave Rambo someone to play with, and things improved further with Colwell and Tanner. I’m glad to see them both looking comfortable and contributing as I have had various doubts on both.
For me, Bulut needs to be bolder and more decisive.
Rambo was everywhere yesterday and you could see how he was trying to drag our very pedestrian tempo up.
For now, I’d drop grant and Bowler to work on them. I know he’s scored 2 in 2 but I’m not a fan of Ugbo yet, as the rest of the game he was non existent.
Jamilu and Robbo in the starting line up and crack on from there for now.

Totally agree, he needs to shake previous season/games out of them, there more worried about doing something wrong, than doing something right hence the sidewards backwards passing (600 passes) yesterday, it’s as if we go into home games 2-0 up and we’re already defending a lead.
They have this fear playing at home for some reason, it’s not as if we’re a baying mob, but then maybe it’s too quiet and then they hear one person shouting something negative, and then they clam up,
But they’re pro footballers they should be able to rise above all that
I have no doubt Leicester away will be a totally different game with the same players.
Just need to sort out our home form,
He’s identified it already, he just needs to shake it out of them,
