Tuesday 1st August 2023 Season long loan to Cardiff City

Josh Bowler signed by Nottingham Forest in 2022 / But NO first team appearances.

Sent on loan to Blackpool last season made 24 appearances.

Aged 24 / Right Winger



He has plenty of experience in the second tier, making his debut at the age of 18 for QPR in 2017. Bowler had a spell on loan with Hull City in the Championship In 2021, Bowler linked up with Blackpool, scoring nine times in all competitions and earning a Premier League move to current parent Club, Forest. The 24-year-old had loans with Olympiakos and his former club, Blackpool last term.

Speaking at the Vale Resort earlier today, Josh said: “I heard about the interest and knew the manager and Club really liked me and it was a Club I really wanted to come to.

“I’ve played in the Championship quite a lot. This season for me is about getting minutes and showing everyone at Cardiff City what I can do and hopefully taking them to the promised land. With the squad we have and with the additions we’ve made, that’s what we have to aim for.”





Bowler is City's sixth signing for the First Team this summer, joining Iké Ugbo, Dimitrios Goutas, Yakou Méïté, Karlan Grant and Aaron Ramsey at CCS! Welcome to South Wales, Josh!

This signing really excites me. Have a look at this guy on Youtube when he was at Blackpool - not Youtube videos that are 10 years old - this is last season!! I remember him standing out when we played Blackpool at home too. He reminds me of stronger Jack Grealish the way he plays but without the histrionics and the diving!! If Blackpool had a decent centre forward instead of a certain Gary Madine then God only knows how many assists JB would have got in a season. Imagine if he was providing service to Kieffer Moore and I can almost smell the edge of the box free kicks and penalties coming this season!!
