A forum for all things Cardiff City

Being in California ever time I click anything on the forum I get a pop up which I have to click to continue reading. After having emailed the company responsible & copying the admin here to make them aware 2 weeks ago the problem still persists despite trying 3 different web browsers although until today Chrome had escaped the message. It should just pop up once & there should be somewhere for me to click to say I agree or whatever once, not every time I click on a thread or anything.
Hopefully someone sees the message here & at least acknowledges me even if they don't fix the issue as it probably only happens for me as it says it is for California residents.

No issues for me, like you say may be a US/California issue.
Would suggest getting in touch with Owain, he's always helpful.
Hope you get it sorted.

On the recommendation of a fellow poster on here, I use the '
Ad Block' app to view the Forum and it stops the '
pop ups' completely...

An alternative could be to get a copy of Express VPN and set your location to London - that would possible work?

Interesting. I get it in Firefox, Chrome & MS Edge, they all have a pop up blocker installed & like I say its only started happening in Chrome today. Tried a trial period VPN but that did help either. It also appeared in Safari on my ipdad & my iphone but only once, after I clicked on Continue it went away & hasn't returned so far.
If Owain does see this then it has something to do with "snack media" which is where the link at the bottom of it goes. It has happened before (last year I think) but they replied to me that time & after some back & forth the problem went away so I presumed they fixed it.
Can you try another browser or do you just have Safari?

If your using a desktop, install the Ad Block extension on your browser. It also lets you disable it when you are accessing sites that detect an adblocker and won't let you access content.
Adblock is not available for mobile devices as a browser extension but they have their own excellent browser app which I find is faster than Chrome and also uses Google as it's search engine. I mainly use android by choice as it's more flexible than IOS for this reason so but it may well be available on the Apple store. It even makes WalesOnline readable and their site is the worst for pop ups, as are all Reach publication websites.

We care, fella...
Not too sure Owain can do too much, as the Forum needs certain things to allow it to run and advertising is one...
I still recommend 'Ad Blocker' as recommended by Grange End Star and I no longer get the 'pop ups'

this a very difficult forum to use tbh. how do you start a new thread or simply reply to a post?

Yeah I think the only people who can help is the snack media people as they fixed the issue once before after a few back & forth emails but they're not replying this time & I was more hoping that Owain might be able to get hold of them.

I just have to hit continue to clear it but it pops up every time I click on a topic or anything else, it also won't go to the first new post afterwards & always goes to the top of the thread.
I've also tried every suggestion that people have made as well as 3 different web browsers (firefox, chrome & edge) and 5 different ad blockers besides the one I have installed permanently.
I also tried logging out & back in on each browser as well as using Malware bytes, duck duck go, ad blocker pro etc etc but all suggestions are welcome as I'll just about try anything now before I go totally mad from it.

How did you reply to this one or put up your only other post to date, then...?

As long as click continue I can reply etc. but as soon as another page or I reload the page I have to hit continue again. The unusable part is that it's a nightmare trying to use it & eventually the annoyance will be too annoying to continue.
It's one of those things that seems silly from afar until you have to deal with every time you click anything. It's hard to explain but as a screen print isn't possible for some reason (I've tried).
