CCFC FIRST TEAM: Pre season games Announced

Wycombe Wanderers vs. Cardiff City,
Adams Park, Saturday 29th July, 3pm





HOME:

The Bluebirds will contest two matches at Cardiff City Stadium in early July to kick off our friendly fixtures for the summer.

Erol Bulut’s side will host Penybont FC on Saturday, 1st July (3pm kick-off), before taking on The New Saints on Tuesday, 4th July (7:30pm kick-off).

Both visiting sides compete in the Cymru Premier Division

Hopefully this isn’t the first team, need something a bit more challenging.

Yeah believe the start of pre season last year was the same. I know it’s about fitness more than anything. Will get to see some more of the under 21’s in these type of games which is good to see what sort of players may be brought through

There’ll be some behind closed door games in Portugal I’m sure.

Pre season is purely about fitness. Don't read too much into who they play.

Not really, there's finances to be made and announcing this shambles won't put many bums on seats; in my opinion.

Cardiff have confirmed that we are set for a trip to Portugal for Pre- Season between the 17th and 23rd of July.

Agree with others, these games are about fitness - nothing more.

Always start with games against teams who are at a low level. As has been mentioned, we played low quality teams from Cornwall when Warnock was in charge.

Our games against these Welsh league clubs are our first pre season games.

We then go to Portugal and play teams (with no fans in the ground) who are a bit better quality.

Our final pre season game before the season starts is against a League One club.

This all makes sense and is the sort of pre-season schedule I'd expect.
