With the exception of Pep and Klopp, I am unsure how many managers really recruit their players.The top clubs gave up managers 30 years ago, nowadays they are just head coaches of the first team.

Lamouchi had no say in Kaba, I doubt Harris knew NG and Mad Mick didn't know Wintle. The modern way is here are your players, now coach. The Dof ensures continuity with head coaches and squad capabilities but our DoF is Tan and thats when it falls to pieces.
