Atmosphere at staduims

Thu Sep 30, 2010 11:31 am

After some of the comments on here about the atmosphere at our stadium, which could be, consistently better, I watched the Spurs v Twente game last night and thought the atmosphere was electric by both the dutch and spurs fans it looked like most people was standing singing, the stewards were letting them get on with it, and it made an excellent game, forced the officials to favor the home side, with a couple of penalty decisions.

I do not think Spurs would get that atmosphere at a new stadium if spurs moved, I have been to a lot of the old and stadiums and I cannot think of one new stadium that has a better atmosphere.

I do not know what the answer is maybe it is stewarding, and the fear that we seem to have, amongst football fans inside the new stadium, banning orders and the rest of the laws or bye laws that they throw at you ,and of course you are guilty because you are a football fan, so the question is how do we reclaim our right to support our team not in a violent or abusive way {OK the odd player of ref might get a bit of abuse for making the wrong decisions} All sports have fans on their feet at one stage or another screaming and shouting to support their team, boxer, or horse.

When standing was allowed you could move to an area you felt comfortable in and wanted to be in, now you are locked into the people around you who wish you were not there and you wish they were not there for what ever reason.

I have been, and paid, top price for tickets for a seat at boxing events and only sat down during the break. Maybe the answer is to have a part of the stadium were you can do this without fear of being ejected or your season ticker being taken or revoked. Have the supporters trust have any influence in regards to this? if So let us have the family stand and the ninian stand for those who want to make an atmosphere at CCFC staduim, at many grounds we have been surrounded by the home fans without any trouble if that is the fear. I want 90 + minutes on a Saturday to be able to support the team that I love without the fear of being branded an hooligan because I stood up and shouted something or other that the person next to me or 4 seats infront felt they should report me to a steward.

So lets get together to start a campaign to have our own area, for vocal fans

spurs may have been a good atmosphere last night because its not often spurs are in the champs league.

most of the time white hart lane is dead.
