And I've heard a geezer who booked a suite at The Celtic Manor back in 2002 and refused all offers for it since. Until recently, when David Beckham offered him enough for him to pay off his mortgage.

The in-laws have a smashing home, overlooking the 18th in Llanhennock. God knows what they could have got for letting it out for a week. But fair do's, they didn't want strangers milling around in their 'home' so the old dears are watching it from their garden!

I don't know of any hotels that will let you book a room much more than a year in advance. Especially not one when a major event is on...

The Beckham mortgage payment thing has just been told to me.....£75k....they booked the room for £1k for a special event.

As first they were offered £2k (keep day tickets)...then £10k...they were thinking over the £10k when it went straight to "pay off your morgage".......nice if it comes your way eh !!!!
