MY VIEW: AMAZING AWAY SUPPORT / BUT CARDIFF CITY WERE TAUGHT

MY VIEW: AMAZING AWAY SUPPORT / BUT CARDIFF CITY WERE TAUGHT A LESSON & WERE WELL BEATEN BY A QUALITY BURNLEY SIDE.

1,700 Cardiff fans travelled and saw for me, if your owners invest and bring a proper management team in, we wont end up near the bottom again next season.

Burnley were playing keep-ball. Cardiff at times could not touch them.

THERE NEEDS TO BE BIG BIG CHANGES THIS SUMMER INCLUDING PROPER INVESTMENT & CARE SHOWN BY ABOVE.

THE LEAGUE TABLE DOES NOT LIE

First-half: Very comfortable for Burnley - although Cardiff have been too wasteful when afforded the opportunity and sloppy defending yet again.

This is actually Cardiff City’s worst season for over 20 years as they have ended the season 21st in the Championship. With Sabri Lamouchi taking over the managers job 16 games ago and 19th position at the time with a 6pt cushion. Since then Reading have had 6pts deducted and Wigan 3pts deducted.

SABRI LAMOUCHI: PLAYED 18. WON 6 DRAWN 3 LOST 9

Lamouchi record is worse than the previous managers and had only Won 3 of City's last 11 games.

FIRST-HALF: It was coming,
27th min: GOAL! Burnley 1-0 Cardiff City (Brownhill 27)

Goal. Such an odd goal, too. Rinomhota is bundled over in his own box and the ball appears to go over the dead-ball line. Rinomhota inadvertently keeps it in play as he tumbles to the ground. Brownhill is fed in the box and taps in easily.

31min: GOAL! Burnley 2-0 Cardiff City (Barnes 31)
Goal. Another gift. Cross from Brownhill is chested by Romeo straight into Barnes' path and he hammers home.

Barnes had been desperate for that, he has been shooting on sight all game - wanting that last goal on his final appearance for the club. Well, he couldn't have asked for an easier one.

Very comfortable for Burnley - although Cardiff have been too wasteful when afforded the opportunity and sloppy defending yet again.

SECOND-HALF

46th min: Ojo off, Joe Ralls on.

Colwill off, Isaak Davies on.

It was all Burnley:

57th min: WHAT A GOAL! Burnley 3-0 Cardiff City (Twine 57)
Goal. Twine over the wall and in.

65th min:

Romeo off, Mark Harris on.

Wickham off, Sory Kaba on.

Burnley were playing keep-ball. Cardiff at times could not touch them.

It was a one-sided game.

Table doesn’t lie, that’s the massive difference between the clubs at all levels.
Unbelievable support who deserved better
Same again next year, probably worse and with the clowns we got running the club don’t be surprised to see a points deduction

Painful end to a painful season.

Problem I have with it all is I cannot see it getting any better for next season.

Totally outclassed by a Burnley team who didn't need to get out of second gear.

We will be relegated next season unless something drastic changes.

Annis clearly doesn’t want Lamouchi to stay !!

Thank God this dreadful season is over. Far too passive first half, no desire and countless simple errors. Yet again. 23 defeats. However, I dont believe this 'we only stayed up because of Reading'. We may have bothered to play in the last two but we were safe. However, this must be a huge wake up call to the owners . Invest or it's simply a stay of execution. Plenty of teams in 21st go down the next season. Derby Reading etc. We have to pay proper wages if we are to attract quality. A long summer ahead and time to enjoy some cricket instead.

Some of the passing was dreadful , couldn’t string more than 2 passes .
Let’s hope lamouchi had some players lined up on loan or we are fucked

Has Sabri done enough?

Some of his line ups have been shite.
Half time subs etc.

Even today, How you can start and play ojo, Simpson, sawyers, Wickham. In a planning game and give king 5 mins and not look at a few leaves me baffled....

I did ask him that directly on another thread but he never answered. I also said I was unsure if I wanted him to stay & I still am.

Robinson & O'Dowda are our only player's other championship clubs wouldn't mind. Ralls is on the downgrade but obviously is that level as that's the only level he has ever played

Wintle in the right system would be an asset, but that all

McGuiness is still raw, NG is limited, Romeo is a squad player.

The better run clubs steered clear of Sawyers, Ojo and Rinomhota needs to be in with this group.

We need 7 starters and no projects just to be mid-table

His Only saving grace with me is these are not his players . I would love to get Nathan Jones in.

If tan doesn’t give lamouchi what he’s asking for , he will be gone , but I think lamouchi is the man to get us going

Won't to forget this season, no improvement at all, Tan spend some money...

On what? It's not like we can buy players at the moment. If you mean pay the Sala fee & then hope that Ridsdale lets us off the at least 2 window ban then for sure, we're going to have to pay it in the end anyway so yes we need to get that out of the way.

So are you saying the team / squad were virtually awful???

As last August / September, Most on here were raving about them ?

The local media and all three managers have raved about the 17 new signings and of course all the Accademy players that are now 20,21 and 22 years old.

I said last August/ September that No way were the players brought good enough to make the play-offs , more like struggling to stay up.

You were actually saying in replies to me:

“We have a decent squad minus a striker,”

A month later:

Similar stuff like this:

We have a half decent squad, wait for a decent manager, wait for Cooper when Forest sack him.

Annis, would you be willing to give SL a chance IF he was able to get his own players in or do you think we need to look elsewhere?
Personally I don't think we can be fussy on any manager as why would anyone want to come here when they know the situation we are in.

Jules,

I am really undecided on him.

One minute I think yes, then I think it’s the passion I like about him.
If we had big money to give, I would want a better manager.

I think he’s the best Tan will get with the type of budget we will have next season.

Do I think he could get us promoted, it’s a massive NO.

Jules,

Well, some of his selection has been weird like playing Ojo or Wickham but I think he deserves a crack at it especially if he can use his friends and network abroad to get some descent players in who want to play for us, Kipre and Kaba classic example and there's been some creative thinking on here to circumvent those issues lol.
I know you say his record is poor but to be fair he can only play with the hand he's been dealt which is rubbish. Clear out Wickham, Ojo, Wintle, Sang plus others to free wages.

Nobody won more away games than us in the last 9 games of the season. Three. A few equal. But here is where Sabri did well. Also our traveling fans, superb! Sort the home form out and make us hard to beat. Simple. Haha.
