Wed Apr 26, 2023 12:35 pm

At this current moment CCFC Official's say they actually don’t know if they are or not under a Transfer Embargo and do not agree with the EFL now saying they are No longer as they have received different information saying they are .

?????

CARDIFF CITY FC:

CEO Ken Choo, Secretary Michelle McDonald and Head of Communication Mark Denham.

Trust chair Keith Morgan updates members on a meeting with Cardiff City Chief Executive Ken Choo to discuss the transfer embargo and the legal cases the club is involved in.

There has been a lot of discussion among fans over several months regarding the above topics so this report to members is by way of update on the current position.

Transfer Embargo:

“I have been in correspondence with both the English Football League (EFL) and senior management of CCFC to seek clarification on this.

The EFL, through their Director of Communications Mark Rowan has stated in writing that CCFC is “not subject to a registration embargo”.

After raising this with CCFC officials they have stated that they do not agree with this statement as they have received different information from the EFL and will be raising the matter with the EFL.”

I have asked the club to revert to me as soon as they have received a response from the EFL and they have promised to do so.

Legal Cases

Subsequent to the Court of Arbitration For Sport (CAS) ruling against the club in August last year regarding the Emiliano Sala case, the club has reported that they will be pursuing the matter further through the Swiss Federal Tribunal (SFT), which is the Supreme Court, within whose jurisdiction CAS falls.

The club has informed me within the last few days that this matter is ongoing and they are currently awaiting a final decision from the SFT, all relevant paperwork having been submitted some time ago.

The club has also confirmed that its case against the club`s insurers/brokers continues to be pursued.

Is a registration embargo different to a transfer embargo?

So that we can register loans and frees, but can pay for transfers? Or am I reading it wrong?

Carl,

Yes we can continue to get loans and free transfers, which in my view suits The Committee / Hierechy.

The EFL are saying We are No longer under a Transfer Embargo, but Our club officials are saying totally the opposite.

Its total madness once again, maybe just maybe we dont want to be able to actually buy new players next season as their wont be that kind of budget, apparently even lower than this season, which i can tell you was very low.

All very confusing. Seems nobody is clear on the buying of players as we have been able to sign players even with a transfer embargo. Is there a difference between register & transfer? Seems like the EFL are playing with words rather than just answering the question.

Ken Choo our highly paid CEO should be 100% certain if we are under an embargo or not

If he’s not actually sure I would suggest he’s not doing his job properly and maybe he needs to be replaced by someone a bit more competent

Annis, if we manage to stay up and i say if, how can we compete at this level again next season? Surely Tan can see this?

For me this is worse than pathetic, but then he also spends 90% of his time selling cars in London , says it all.

Tan does know this, but he just wants all his money back and City sold and he’s hoping by just staying in the Championship he has a chance of this, I will say 100% he will not get what he says £200mill lost.

Much has been lost on court case after court case losing us £millions, a despicable rebrand, bad signings and a very badly run club, so in my view he lost it himself through bad management at the top.

Has anyone considered it might suit the current owner to have the embargo as an excuse to keep a low budget for next season? :?
