Re: Motivating our players

I was in the undecided camp over DJ but all that changed after last January's transfer window. He got us into the play offs with essentially the same bunch of players, game in, game out. We were one of the higher scoring teams in the division and we are currently lying 2nd in the Championship, despite playing the last 4 games or so with some key players missing. OK, so he's not a ranter and a raver on the touchline, but last season the players responded well to him, despite this. We're going through a sticky time at the moment, but I'd rather a sticky time now than later in the season at a crucial stage.

I'm not sure what will satisfy you given our current position. You'll never change the way he is, he will still remain "passionless" so the only way to get a manager like that is to sack DJ and put someone in there who shows that "passion". And that would be frankly ridiculous

Trouble is, and you know this, we normally have more than one "sticky time" per season, of varying lengths.
They are the norm - I wasn't at the game last night but the guy on Five Live said last night that we created one chance - Chris Burke - first half. That's against a side currently in the bottom three of the table. Leicester, one of the other two sides in the bottom three and actually rock bottom beat us recently. Simply not good enough.

Again, we are struggling to beat the teams at the bottom of the table. Been the same for the last few seasons
