Jay Fulton says Swansea City know exactly what the South Wales derby means to the club’s fans.

The Swans head to the Cardiff City Stadium following the international break for a highly anticipated derby day clash.

And the midfielder has warned the Bluebirds his side don’t need to be reminded of the fixture’s importance.

“I think it is a game that takes care of itself in terms of mentality, you don’t need to build it up because we know what is at stake and what it means,” he said.

“It’s a good game to be looking forward to after the international break.

“To be going into it on the back of the win over Bristol City is massive for us. Hopefully we can take a bit of confidence into that game.

“From there we want to be able to go on and finish the season well.”

He says they don't need motivation but RM makes sure they get it big time. Their media dept produced a video that was played to the players in the run up, on the coach up and in the dressing room prior. I'd do exactly the same as it focuses and motivates.

We lost last time at theirs but we started so well and took the game to them from the off. You could see that at last we seemed up for it and their fans were silent for 10 minutes as they and their players didn't expect it and were shaken and nervous. Then Robbo gets sent off for being over zealous (but a good sign) and then we know what happened.

We have to take it to them from the off and stop them playing. High press, physical and quick counters. We can't let them play in the second 3rd and pin us back either. They are shaky playing out from the back when pressed, get nervous and mistakes are made and we need to convert those into goals. We can't let them play. And they can play some good phases if you let them but it needs to be cut off at source as even their fans say that RM is trying to play a style they no longer have the quality for. And in MHO, its a style that is now dated, at least at this level.

This time I see a margin of a one goal win for either side and not a high scoring match, an edgy occasion to eke out and convert chances . I was enthused by our attitude down there's despite the result, we were at last 'up for it' and I reckon SL & SB will amplify that but with managed aggression, no silly mistakes from being baited etc.
