Kieron Evans was named in the Vanarama National League's Team of the Week for his performance for struggling non league Torquay United against Gateshead at the weekend.

Evans, 21, found himself on the scoresheet in the 1-1 draw, netting for the second time in as many matches after notching in the 2-1 defeat by Wealdstone in the previous game.

The Wales youth international took his goal expertly as he chested down and volleyed from the edge of the area into the bottom corner late in the second half to secure a crucial point for the Devon club.

Evans, whose contract at Cardiff currently expires at the end of the campaign, has seriously impressed in the fifth tier and it will be interesting to see what happens with him in the coming months.

i have only seen him twice. On the first occasion, against Brighton in the cup i think, i thought he looked good.
