EFL still investigating abandoned Millers clash amid table error
The EFL are still reviewing the circumstances around Cardiff City's abandoned game at Rotherham United on Saturday.
Eagle-eyed Cardiff fans noticed their side had seemingly been awarded three points for the clash in south Yorkshire. The Championship table on the EFL's official website had the Bluebirds in 19th with 42 points on Sunday afternoon.
However, a source at the EFL has confirmed that the table is incorrect, and Rotherham have not forfeited the game.
Cardiff were winning 1-0 before the decision to postpone the game, which was made shortly after half-time following an outrageous downpour at the New York Stadium.
Rotherham and their ground staff have subsequently found themselves on the end of fierce criticism for their alleged inability to keep the game on, although Millers boss Matt Taylor later defended the club's actions.
As per an EFL statement on the Saturday afternoon, an investigation has been launched into the circumstances around the decision to call off the game.
