Sadly missed with his wand of a left foot and “take one for the team” professional fouls

The Current team desperately needs someone of his ability

RIP Whitts

Gone but never forgotten. If only we had someone who could take a corner or free kick half as good as he could. :bluebird:

The best player I ever saw at city the greatest player city have ever had. If you talk about Messi and ronaldo free kicks you have to include him in the same breath, when city had a free kick you knew he was going to score because everyone took their mobile phone out.

Totally agree. Everyone would stand up when we had a free kick with Whitts.

Legend is overused but he is one.

My favourite will always be Leicester away in the play-offs, I was there and it was magical.

I've been filling my 10 year old in on whitts after he asked me about him at the wba game, told him probably the best player I've had the pleasure of watching down there so hes been watching loads of you you tube videos on him and he's absolutely amazed at how good he was.

That's great to hear and exactly why the family stand should be renamed the "Peter Whittingham Stand" so kids ask their parents who he is and they like you, have the pleasure of telling their child all about this incredible legend.

Agree on the naming of a stand mate, will immortalise him forever as a city legend.
Got to keep his memory alive, it's good he's on the screen before matches, which is what made my boy ask but I don't think it's enough

Cardiff rightfully retired the number 7 and have a Whittingham shirt hanging in the changing room for every game.

It was great that we had a testimonial that we all enjoyed and it's a superb gesture to have the 7 shirt retired and hung in the dressing room. I do think we should have something immediately visible and my personal preference would be to have the family stand named after him. I'd also love to see a statue, along with one for Joe Dwyer but the stand renaming would be nice as it keeps his name alive for all to see.
